Yes, it's finally here--Electronic Arts has released a mobile version of its smash hit console game, Rock Band, which gives you the rock star experience in the comfort of your home. Now, you can get it on your iPhone, wherever and whenever you want.

But can an iPhone app really come close to playing Rock Band in person? Rock Band for the iPhone is impressively executed, with a user interface that mimics the real deal, great audio and graphics, and tons of collaborative options that let you form bands with both friends and strangers, both online and off--if you're so inclined.

However, the lack of a genuine vocal feature (beyond tapping to the beat, that is) is somewhat disappointing, and the customization options that you enjoy with the console version are absent altogether. Rock Band is also pricey enough--ten dollars--to give you pause before buying!

Nonetheless, the bottom line is that Rock Band for the iPhone is still a lot of fun and an overall satisfying product from EA. That's why we recommend downloading Rock Band.
