iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch Game: Angry Birds!

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 – running time 05:09
This episode is about an addictive little artillery game of dive bombing bird on pig action called Angry Birds.

Segments

This game is a straight up old school style artillery game and is extremely simple to play. The goal of the game is to hurl birds from a slingshot and kill pigs (because the pigs have stolen the birds' eggs). For each level, you get a set amount of birds to hurl in order to knock down obstacles to fall and kill the pigs, to make the pigs fall, or to crash your bird directly into the pigs. The fewer the birds it takes you, the more bonus points you get when you've killed all the pigs.

Angry Birds

Version 1.2.1 | Developed by Clickgamer Technologies | 12MB | $0.99

PROS:
- Great physics engine
- It gets addictive as you get challenged and keep trying to solve problems. Addiction in gamins is a pro, right?
- Very simple to play, but provides just enough complexity to keep you engaged

CONS:
- Almost too simple even though it's about pissed off birds
- It would be nice to be able to more easily track your previous shots
- Once you've touched the slingshot, you're locked in and can't not fire
- Needs an instant replay

Pros, Cons & Final Judgment

As you complete levels, the game gets harder, presents you with more obstacles, and you have to get craftier. There is a lot of interesting and fun strategy that can be used at different levels within the game. See if Prager thinks the HD iPad version it's worth the 400% increase in price!
