Jay's Chalkboard Notes:
1. Practice talking about your business in front of people
2. Let them poke holes in your presentation
3. Practice in front of mirror, and then practice again
4. Filter pitch down to main points
5. Explain business in 1-2 minutes because VCs tend to take you off your script
6. Ask them questions
7. Who else have they invested in?
8. What can they bring you as an investor?
Today's Homework Assignment
Your takeaway assignment based on today's question is to create a presentation, and practice it in front of a very snarky friend. Tell them to interrupt and ask questions. Practice being tripped up over and over again, because this is what happens. It is never by the script. Learn to compress your story, and be able to get your major points out in five minutes.
