this is probably to ensure Kevin doesnt end up making out
with a 17 year old ..which ironically is legal in StL

It’s too bad they scheduled it in the middle of the week and start filming so early. I have college classes until 6:45 PM. I’m not sure I want to miss the class.

At the bars I frequent in Canada you won’t get carded unless you order a drink. Why don’t you under 21s go, but don’t order any alcohol. Or is it like a club where they card you at the door?

I live in the STL and I have never even heard of this place. Is 300+ seats going to be enough? Hope I can make the taping though.

well… another sad story of an 19 year not being able to attend.
you would have at least double the attendees if you could make it 18+.

Argh! Wednesday?! Really you guys are coming mid week? I’m not flying back in from business until thursday. You guys shoulda checked out the Schlafly Taproom, It’s a microbrewery with a cool atmosphere for the event. You guys should definately go by there and check it out, maybe pick some of their micros up for the show. It’s 3 min away from Moulin.

jamesbritton Says:February 6th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
Sweet, I’m there! rocket55 hit the nail, the Tap Room is great. Schlafly is the only good beer in St. Louis. Maybe we can hit them up after the show?
See you guys there!

Schlafly’s is THE place to be in STL. Great food, incredible service, and perfect beer!! The #15 is my absolute fav! We emailed the guys to suggest the Taproom when we first heard about the STL taping. Come on, Diggnation AND Schlafly’s how F’ing perfect would that be? Guess Moulin will have to do. We all should definitely head to the Taproom after the show! I am sure Tom would love to have us! Maybe Kevin and Alex could join us? See you all at the taping!! - Michelle

Listen guys that are UNDER 21. Its a HUGE liability to offer beer in a place and Revision3 is there. If a guy under 21 drinks there and then drives and kills someone….they would be under fire and get sued BIG TIME. (I’m in the insurance business.) SEE YOU GUYS THERE!!! I’m driving 6 hours!! Also is it just a walk in sort of thing? No tickets required?
26
sxviper Says:February 7th, 2008 at 11:38 pm
I am glad it is 21 and over. sorry under 21’s. and the last guy was right it would be a huge liability for them. i am driving down from chi-town that day. took a couple of vacation days and ready to drink with the guys. can not wait. see u there 21 and overs.

WonderBriefs Says:February 8th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
Seriously, minors, if you regularly watch the show then you know that Kevin and Alex like to drink. So why get upset that you can’t see the show live? You can’t go to the bar as it is. I know that sucks for you for right now, but you’ll get there soon enough.
I just wish I had the time to go to St. Louis.

@Those who are patronizing we who are under 21:
Speaking as a 16 year old, I can grok the reasons for 21+, but those reasons really aren’t that great. We’re talking about St. Louis here, and like most large cities, the are tons of places that sell alcoholic beverages and still cater to minors. I respect that it’s ultimately revision3’s choice, but really… 21+? When it’s so easy to make it open to any age? That’s pretty lame. Both I and my brother (who is 11 and a pretty hard core DiggN fan) were looking forward to this. My bro even saved up money for his new digg shirt, and he’s pretty disappointed.

jakeofark Says:February 9th, 2008 at 9:24 am
I’m hugely disappointed with the 21 and up rule. I live in Arkansas and figured Diggnation would never do a show with in 1000 miles of me. I was so excited that I scheduled to take the 20th and 21 off as soon as I found out Diggnation would be in St. Louis. I consider myself one of the “original” fans (no insult to anyone) because I was on Digg.com a month after it started and have been on there an average of once a day with religious fervor ever since. I watched the Screen Savers back in the day. I read all of Kevin Rose’s “Dark Tips” and now years later I’m in the Information Security field. I’ve watched every Diggnation since episode 1. This sucks pretty bad. I was greatly looking forward to meeting Kevin and Alex.

35
suprstrpj Says:February 10th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
and to anyone under 21, deal with it. all of us who are over 21 either got fake id’s when we were younger, or just whined about everything we couldn’t get into.

I called Moulin today and they had NO info on the show. They said to contact Diggnation. I would really appreciate it if someone in the know would post an answer as to whether or not there will be some kind of charge to get in. Also, how soon the doors will be open. I am taking Greyhound from KC and the city bus will drop off 15 minutes early or 1 hour and 45 minutes early. I don’t want to be stuck outside in the cold for an hour waiting for the doors to open. Also, for those of you looking for a room on a budget, the Econo Lodge - Riverfront has rooms for about $58 or $48 with your Sam’s Club Card. They are less that 2.5 miles away from Moulin and right near the Arch and lots of nice restaurants. That is the best location at the best rate I could find.

mixmastakooz Says:February 12th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
Hey! Well, the neighborhood that Moulin located in is kinda sketchy. It’s about four blocks away from the projects (although, the area is improving).
I asked the guys if they wanted to do this at the St. Louis Science Center (they do serve alcohol there for special occasions). We easily fit more than 300…But it might be cost prohibitive. And, I don’t think I have much pull with the events and marketing department. I think it would have been cool if they would have booked the Mullah Lounge (it’s a Brew and View with a big capacity and a cool bowling alley in the basement). Or maybe the Lumiere Casino would have been cool too…don’t think they would be ready for a crowd the size of Diggnation though…
As for bars…The Tap Room is definitely a good spot if you reserve the second floor, and yes, they do have great beer!! My other choice would be McGurks (An Esquire Top 100 Bar in the US). I’ve worked part-time there for a long time and could pull some favors.
Also here’s some travel advice: If you’re coming from the West on I-64. It’s closed for about a 5 mile stretch for the next year (from I-270 to I-170). Also, the exit from I-64 you’ll see that Jefferson will be the best exit to the Moulin…wrong. From I-64 to Chouteau, they knocked down the bridge, and so Jefferson currently doesn’t exist right there until next year. Hopefully, for both of these closures, google maps will compensate.
I created a Google Map with tips, locations, etc.

I wanted to make sure that everyone from out of town knows that Highway 40 / I-64 is CLOSED from I-270 to I-170. So if you are driving in from the west, you are going to have to detour south on I-270, to I-44 and then head East on 44.
Looking forward to the show.
Anyone know if there is a cover?

Vin De Set, what an awesome venue for Diggnation. It’s a bomb-ass wine bar/resturaunt as well. Personally, I thought the show last night was a blast. That photoshop of Alex’s ancestors has me laughing this morning. The corny magician dude at the beginning, not so awesome. Echo time during the Indiana Jones story…hilarious. Since work gave me a snow day today here are the YouTube vids for those who missed the show - http://youtube.com/results?search_query=st.+louis+diggnation&search_type=
