The Website Updates Roll On

February 11th, 2008 at 05:19 by Ron Richards in Website

There’s nothing better than starting the week to some changes and improvements to the website of your favorite Internet TV network. And on this Monday, we strive to give you the very best in your Internet TV viewing experience and are happy to share with you some small changes and updates we’ve made to the site:

  • Blog RSS Feed - Obviously, since you’re reading this post, you like our blog. Well now it’s easy to subscribe to it in your favorite RSS Reader or RSS aggregator. Just look for the RSS icon in the upper right of the page on any blog post and take that RSS URL and subscribe to it in your application of choice!
  • More Info on the Just Released Page – A small change, but one that many of you asked for, on the ever popular Just Released page, we’ve added the release date and time to this page.
  • Downloading Specific Episodes – Many of you sent in feedback that you were having a hard time finding where to download a specific episode. So we’ve expanded that box by default on the episode pages, so now the various file formats available for direct download or bittorrent are available for your downloading pleasure!
  • Top Navigation – We’ve been working on some bugs with our top navigation, mainly the way the drop downs interact when they drop down on a page with the flash player. That bug has been fixed, so you shouldn’t see any problems. We’ve also added a slim login box along the top, which is currently only working in Firefox, but we’ll be rolling this out for Internet Explorer and Opera soon.

Like I said, small changes but it’s important to note that many of these changes, as well as other ones we have in the queue, were the result of YOUR feedback. We’re reading any and all blog comments, forum posts and direct emails and using that to help us prioritize our development. So please, keep the feedback coming!

thanks.

Lil’ Internet Superstar Launches

February 11th, 2008 at 02:31 by Martin Sargent in Announcements, Shows

I’m pleased to announce that Internet Superstar has been a massive, unmitigated success for Revision3, both critically and financially. But every day, I walk in to my corner office to find not only the fresh pot of fine Sumatran coffee dutifully prepared by my hot secretary Sindy Pendergrass, but also an inbox overflowing with one repeated complaint: the show is only on once a week.

Well, problem solved.

From now on, you can watch a new episode of Internet Superstar five days a week! We’ll still bring you our full-length, entertainment juggernaut of a show every Wednesday, and on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, you’ll get Lil’ Internet Superstar, a slimmed down version of our show which will highlight, with laser precision and intensity, our selection for that 24-hour period’s Internet Superstar.

So please go forth and enjoy episode 1 – The House of Meat

And remember, this is YOUR best show ever made, so if ever you want to nominate an Internet Superstar who you’ve stumbled across in your own late night online meanderings, please send it to martin at revision3 dot com.

Episode 2: The Deuce Has Dropped, is constipated

February 6th, 2008 at 10:23 by Martin Sargent in Announcements

Hey Superstars. Due to technical difficulties, episode 2 of Internet Superstar has been delayed. For how long? I don’t know. I called Oberon Zell, my powerful wizard friend from Web Drifter, to look into his crystal ball, but he hasn’t gotten back to me. I think he’s been on a WoW bender.

The reason for the delay is 100% technical. For some reason the episode will not encode. My suspicion is, despite our shockingly powerful computing technology here at Revision3, it’s simply not powerful enough to render such an awesome piece on online entertainment. It’s like trying to compress God in some codec; it simply cannot be done.

But we have the best minds on it, and I’m sure it will be available soon. Thank you for your patience. Think of it as some sticky buns rising in the oven. Oh hell yes they smell good, but if you’re just patient and wait for them to fully rise before taking them so they reach their optimum state, your family will enjoy them all the more. Or something like that (note: do not enjoy Internet Superstar with your family unless you relish awkward situations).

Anyway, to give you a little preview, expect to see interviews with an English lad who built a rubber band gun that can fire 40 rounds per second and YouTube sensation Mr. Pregnant.

Patience…

Revision3.com Site Updates

February 1st, 2008 at 03:28 by Ron Richards in Announcements

We really pride ourselves at Revision3 on keeping busy, creating great content for you all to enjoy and to continue to improve and enhance our website for your use. After we launched the new site, we fixed and upgraded a lot of the things about the previous site, but like any other software development, there are little bugs here and there that we’re constantly chasing and fixing. I know a lot of you have been frustrated by some of these so I wanted to periodically post some updates after we push new code or fix existing issues. This week, it’s a small update, but some of you will find it meaningful:

  • Opera & Nintendo Wii - We’ve run into a few problems with the Opera browser (which is a fave browser here at Revision3) and video playback on the Nintendo Wii (Which uses the Opera browser). Well, the Nintendo Wii video playback issue has been fixed! So feel free to fire up the Wii and watch some Revision3 shows. As for the nagging Opera bugs, there may be a few here, so all of you using Opera, hang in there! we’re working on them and will have them all fixed soon!
  • User Information – Some of you were having difficulty with changing your personal information (e-mail, password changing etc.) or had trouble posting in our forums. We’ve spent some pretty heavy time working on this and you should be able to complete any of the tasks you were having trouble with.

In addition to these updates, we’ve made many smaller bug fixes that are way too micro to highlight here. We’re looking to be constantly working and updating the site, so if you have any problems with the site, please don’t hesitate to let us know at support AT revision3.com
