San Francisco, CA – December 12, 2008 – Furthering its position as the ultimate online source for entertainment news, Revision3’s hit program the Totally Rad Show has won two prestigious tech industry awards. Hosted by Dan Trachtenberg, Alex Albrecht and Jeff Cannata, the Totally Rad Show is an explosion of movie, video game, TV and comics news and reviews. And the awards are…

  • The 2008 Podcast Award, Best Produced: Online media fans submitted nominations for their favorite shows in the 2008 Podcast Awards, which recognize the best video and audio podcasts, and then voted to honor TRS for its top-notch production skills. For more information, check out http://www.podcastawards.com/.
  • Nintendo’s Supermarket Spree and Cook-Off Competition: Nintendo of America invited The Totally Rad Show hosts on a high-octane trip to the supermarket to compete in Personal Trainer: Cooking Supermarket Spree—and they won! The two-part contest, held at Whole Foods Market in Pasadena, Calif. saw contestants scouring grocery shelves in pursuit of ingredients to prepare one of the 245+ recipes found in Personal Trainer: Cooking, a new interactive cooking coach available on Nintendo DS. The TRS hosts crossed the finish line first. Check it out here! At the conclusion of the spree, the contestants with the fastest times traded-in their shopping carts for chef hats and met face-to-face in a heated cook-off. After preparing a selected recipe from Personal Trainer: Cooking, Totally Rad Show hosts took home the silver in the cook-off. The Totally Rad Show features the Supermarket Sweep/Cook-off challenge in Episode 89.

Hosted by Alex Albrecht, Jeff Cannata and Dan Trachtenberg, the Totally Rad Show is Revision3’s explosion of movie, video game, TV and comics news and reviews. Four dudes in a garage. One green screen. A cubic ass-ton of enthusiasm. The Totally Rad Show is all about the feeling of sharing a great new movie, video game, TV show or comic. If it’s out there and it is rad, it is on the Totally Rad Show.

About Revision3
Revision3 is the first media company that gets it. The company was founded in 2005 by technology visionaries Kevin Rose, Jay Adelson and David Prager because they couldn’t find anything they wanted to watch on traditional television. The company is now led by Internet TV pioneer Jim Louderback. With more than 60 million views to date (and six million per month), Revision3’s programs can be found everywhere from Revision3 to a wide range of platforms, including iTunes, YouTube, Joost, Hulu, Viddler, Blip.TV and TIVO. Wonderful Piano Rendition of Tekzilla Theme

December 15th, 2008 at 03:33 by Jim Louderback in Shows

The team at Tekzilla changed the outro music a few weeks ago to something more reminiscent of a 90s sitcom. It’s catchy, fun, and apparently caught the ear of at least one fan. If you like Tekzilla, you have to listen to this – it’s a wonderful piano rendition of the Tekzilla outro music. Well done!

Revision3 Brings You ROFLThing-NYC!

December 10th, 2008 at 09:37 by Tyler Howarth in Live Events

Revision3 is coming to NYC this January, partnering with the crew at ROFLThing to create another weird full day and night of the entire freaking Internet in one room—ROFLThing-NYC! Back in April, ROFLCon 2008 was the first conference that discussed what makes memes work, why they work, and where it’s all going (and then threw a rocking party with Internet celebs themselves).

For the 2009 event, we’ve been working closely with the ROFLThing crew to finagle a venue bodacious enough to house all the action on January 24th (that’s Santos Party House NYC), and we’re officially on board with what’s shaping up to be the hottest Internet culture event. Check out ROFLThing for details. More to come!

January 24th in New York City. Get ready.

Revision3 Store Launches!

December 9th, 2008 at 04:10 by Jim Louderback in Announcements

“The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”
- Lao Tzu

Last night we launched something many of you have been clamoring for: Our new Revision3 store. I’m very proud of the hard work our team put into the store; launching it was not unlike building a house, with lots of moving parts, contractors and decorators to manage.

But unlike a house, which might get a new addition every ten years, what you see today is just the beginning, just our first step. We have a lot of great plans going forward, and you’ll see expansions and updates over the coming days and weeks.

Although we’re happy with the first round of products in our store, including the great Scam School and Tekzilla shirts, and the new female-sized shirts, some of you have wondered why we didn’t have more products available. They are on the way! This is just the first lineup of products – we expect a new crop of products up on the site within a few weeks, including hoodies – and maybe even Tekzilla hot sauce!

As for issues shipping outside of the US, we’re working to address that as quickly as possible.

Some of our fans wondered why we launched at all, given that we’ve discussed a broader range of products. I thought it was important that we launch something this week, so that we had an initial release available for the holiday season – rather than waiting until next year. And remember, as Lao Tzu says, this is just a first step. Our store will include a constantly evolving set of products and features that should please everyone.

Want to help with the next step? We’re going to be adding new pictures of our products “in action”, as modeled by our staff. But we’d rather run pictures of you decked out in our Revision3 gear. So here’s my challenge to all of you: snap a picture of yourself in one of our new shirts, hats, or using some of the gear to come. Post the picture in the forum, or link to it posted on Flickr or elsewhere. For a limited time, if we end up using your picture in our store, we’ll give you anything you want at the store for free!

DealsFTW Live on Revision3 Tonight

December 8th, 2008 at 05:22 by Ron Richards in Shows

We’ve been working on a number of interesting new projects here at Revision3 over the past few months, and one of them debuts tonight, in beta form. It’s our new Deals FTW show, and it’s a bit of a departure for us.

I’ve been a big fan of Woot! for years, and I’ve been captivated by home shopping shows as well. I’ve always thought there would be a way to mash-up internet video, shopping, product demonstrations and a bit of an edge. Tonight, here at Revision3, we’re going to take a first stab at a live product / shopping experience, using our live player, Meebo-based chat, and our test partners at HP.

When you tune in, you’ll see me, joined by a number of Revision3 employees and friends, showing off four very different HP notebooks. From the page, in turn, you can link over to HPs site to explore, customize and price out, and buy these notebooks.

But that’s not all. You’ll also see the debut of our new Revision3 store, and a sneak peek at some of the awesome new shirts, hats and other branded gear we’ve been developing.

Why do a shopping show? Because we think there’s an opportunity to introduce you to some cool new products, and make money at the same time. To be clear, we teamed up with HP for two reasons – one because they make some pretty nice products. But primarily because it’s a way to bring more money into Revision3, and to help pay for the shows that we produce, and give away for free.

So if you like what we do at Revision3, come support us. Check out www.revision3.com/dealsftw, watch what we’re doing, and comment in the chat room. And let us know what you think. We’re going to work to incorporate your comments in the next version of DealsFTW. Thanks for watching, and don’t remember to click on our Check Prices link and buy stuff from our stores!
