REVISION3 PROGRAMS CLIMB TO THE TOP WITH SHOW VIEWS MORE THAN DOUBLING IN 2008

January 29th, 2009 at 05:00 by Ron Richards in Press Releases

— AUDIENCE NUMBERS REACH 46 MILLION WITH NEARLY ONE BILLION
MINUTES OF ENGAGEMENT —

San Francisco, CA – January 28, 2009 – Revision3 shows garnered a record number of views for 2008, catapulting its hit programs—including Diggnation, The Totally Rad Show and Tekzilla—into the next stratosphere of Internet super stardom. Views of Revision3’s programs have increased more than 140 percent year-over-year to over 46 million views in 2008 from 19 million views in 2007. In addition, the network reported a whopping 129 million segments viewed and nearly one billion minutes of engagement in 2008.

“Year after year, Revision3’s viewer engagement continues to rise, more than doubling in the past year alone. This fact, and our viewer numbers, are especially impressive when you consider that our viewers spend nearly an hour engaged in our long form programming, such as Diggnation and Tekzilla,” said Jim Louderback, CEO, Revision3.

Revision3 has been at the forefront of Internet Television viewing, developing technologies and partnering with preexisting services to ensure viewers can access their favorite shows whenever and wherever they want.

As viewer engagement rises, so does the status of Revision3 programs. In 2008, Revision3’s Totally Rad Show was named “Best Produced” podcast by the 2008 Podcast Awards, Tekzilla was nominated for a Global Media Award and Fast Company named Systm one of the “Top 10 Gadget Sites on the Internet.” In addition, Scam School, Diggnation and Tekzilla were named to the “Best of iTunes 2008″ list, while Diggnation co-host Kevin Rose was declared the most famous man on the Internet by Inc. magazine. Revision3 has experienced increased advertising partnerships, adding EA, Zune, HP, Virgin America, NVIDIA, Sony, Axe, Squarespace, Dolby, NHSTA and Anheuser-Busch InBev to the company’s roster.

Revision3 programs include Diggnation, Tekzilla, The Totally Rad Show, The Digg Reel, Hak5, iFanboy, PixelPerfect, Scam School, Systm, Web Drifter and XLR8R TV.

About Revision3
Revision3 is the first media company that gets it. Born from the Internet, Revision3 is the home of Internet Television, creating and producing shows for a new audience: passionate, committed fans who want to watch shows about technology, modern culture and music that entertain, educate and help to expand their life experiences.

The company was founded in 2005 by technology visionaries Kevin Rose, Jay Adelson and David Prager because they couldn’t find anything they wanted to watch on traditional television. The company is now led by Internet TV pioneer Jim Louderback. With more than 60 million views to date (and six million per month), Revision3’s programs can be found everywhere from Revision3 to a wide range of platforms, including iTunes, YouTube, Joost, Hulu, Viddler, Blip.TV and TIVO. Shows can be watched on any device, from a cell phone to an Apple iPod to a computer or a TV.

More Diggnation with Jimmy Fallon!

January 21st, 2009 at 10:58 by Ron Richards in Shows

Seems like everyone has checked out the most recent episode of Diggnation which featured Jimmy Fallon as a guest. The conversation over on the forums has been great and it seems as if everyone really enjoyed watching Kevin and Alex hang out with Jimmy. If you want to see some more of Jimmy and Kevin and Alex, you should check out the blog over on the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon website, where they’ve posted some video of Jimmy talking to the guys after the show was taped. Jimmy asks for advice on using technology and social media with his new show and Kevin and Alex share their thoughts about things like Twitter and interacting with the Diggnation audience.

You can watch the video below:

You can also check it out on Jimmy’s site.

thanks.

LeVar Burton, Jimmy Fallon and Diggnation!

January 16th, 2009 at 09:54 by Ron Richards in Shows

It’s been a busy week for Diggnation! We were down in Los Angeles for the live Diggnation at the Digg Meetup at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, and wow, what a time it was. If you missed out on the live show, you can check out the photos and see how packed the place was and all the awesome people who came out to see Kevin and Alex do their thing live in LA.

One of the highlights of the show was that LeVar Burton, star of Roots, host of Reading Rainbow and “Geordi LaForge” on Star Trek: The Next Generation, came out to watch the show and even came on stage for an impromptu performance of the Reading Rainbow theme song! This event was so epic, that even the LA Times covered it. If you missed it, you can check it out here:

The live show from LA will be released next week, on Diggnation’s new release date, Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 6 PM EST. Make sure you don’t miss it!

While down in LA, the guys shot the episode being released today, and they welcomed a special guest: Jimmy Fallon, former SNL Cast member, and the new host of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on NBC. Having Jimmy on the show was a blast and definitely make sure you check out today’s episode which is released at 6 PM EST. I’ve seen the episode and there are several laugh out loud moments, it’s definitely one to remember.

2009 is shaping up to be an awesome year already for Revision3 and Diggnation, so make sure you keep watching and tell your friends!
thanks.
