EPIC FU Lives!

December 30th, 2008 at 04:07 by David Prager in Announcements, Shows

According to Dictionary.com, Epic is something heroic; majestic; impressively great. That is precisely the reason that Revision3 has been honored to include EPIC FU in its family. More than just Epic, the show’s real definition has been and continues to be about stoking the flames of geek passion — films, bands, technology, video games, going green, and all the rest of the things that stand for the cool culture of this generation.

We are extremely saddened that today’s episode of EPIC FU will be the last one distributed by Revision3. The good news, however, is that EPIC FU is absolutely NOT going away. The show will continue its goal and mission, and will continue to enjoy the two-way street that is the ongoing conversation with all of EPIC FU’s viewers and participants.

New episodes of EPIC FU will be available at http://www.epicfu.com, so be sure to stay tuned in 2009 for more EPIC FU.

You Asked For It! PixelPerfect Returns!

December 29th, 2008 at 10:48 by Ron Richards in Announcements, Shows

Today we’re very excited to bring you a brand new episode of PixelPerfect!

“What’s this?” you may ask, “I thought that show was canceled?” It was. Back in October, we stopped producing PixelPerfect (one of our longest running and personal favorite shows), as part of a broader revamp of our lineup.

We knew that PixelPerfect had a lot of fans, but we were blown away by the show’s strong, devoted and loyal audience. You spoke, through a flood of e-mails, tweets, IMs and every other imaginable form of communication short of carrier pigeon.

We listened. So today marks the return of PixelPerfect. We’ve got some great episodes coming up, as master artist and teacher Bert Monroy returns with a wide range of insightful Photoshop and Illustrator tips, along with a sneak peek at the upcoming Adobe CS4 suite.

If you love PixelPerfect and want us to continue to produce new episodes, there are just three simple things you need to do:
1. Watch the show, every week, every episode. Subscribe to it via iTunes or your favorite RSS reader.

2. Support all of our Pixel Perfect sponsors, including GoDaddy, Netflix and nVidia, using our PixelPerfect codes where appropriate.

3. Tell your friends, co-workers, associates…basically everyone you know, about the show. If the audience of PixelPerfect grows to a higher level, then that will ensure that we regularly keep bringing you new episodes.

So what are you waiting for? Go watch the newest episode and enjoy the return of PixelPerfect!

Want to keep up with what’s happening at Revision3? Now there’s a great new way to keep in touch. We just launched the Revision3 Newsletter, which highlights some of the best stuff we released over the past week, and provides a preview of what’s coming out this week. It’s a great way to make sure you always know what’s going on at Revision3 – and I encourage you to sign up, because we might just be releasing some secrets inside every now and then!

If you’re a registered user and chosen to receive e-mails from us, you’re already receiving it. Want to get it in your inbox? If you haven’t signed up for an account on revision3.com yet, simply register, be sure to check the box under “Contact Options” and we’ll send it to you automatically! Don’t want to get it? Unsubscribing is a snap, you can do that by clicking unsubscribe from your email that we sent you, or you can set your contact preferences in your account. And for anyone who wants our weekly update, make sure and add “newsletter-owner@revision3.com” to your address book or email whitelist as a trusted sender.

Oh, and if you’d rather read it online, you can check it out here on revision3.com. We’ll be posting the newsletter to our blog everytime we send it out, so you can also read it at revision3.com/blog if you prefer!

Look for more alerting and updates from Revision3 as we go into next year, including a clip of the day and more. And if you’re not following @Revision3 on twitter, that’s also a good way to stay connected!

Revision3 Store Launches!

December 9th, 2008 at 04:10 by Jim Louderback in Announcements

“The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”
- Lao Tzu

Last night we launched something many of you have been clamoring for: Our new Revision3 store. I’m very proud of the hard work our team put into the store; launching it was not unlike building a house, with lots of moving parts, contractors and decorators to manage.

But unlike a house, which might get a new addition every ten years, what you see today is just the beginning, just our first step. We have a lot of great plans going forward, and you’ll see expansions and updates over the coming days and weeks.

Although we’re happy with the first round of products in our store, including the great Scam School and Tekzilla shirts, and the new female-sized shirts, some of you have wondered why we didn’t have more products available. They are on the way! This is just the first lineup of products – we expect a new crop of products up on the site within a few weeks, including hoodies – and maybe even Tekzilla hot sauce!

As for issues shipping outside of the US, we’re working to address that as quickly as possible.

Some of our fans wondered why we launched at all, given that we’ve discussed a broader range of products. I thought it was important that we launch something this week, so that we had an initial release available for the holiday season – rather than waiting until next year. And remember, as Lao Tzu says, this is just a first step. Our store will include a constantly evolving set of products and features that should please everyone.

Want to help with the next step? We’re going to be adding new pictures of our products “in action”, as modeled by our staff. But we’d rather run pictures of you decked out in our Revision3 gear. So here’s my challenge to all of you: snap a picture of yourself in one of our new shirts, hats, or using some of the gear to come. Post the picture in the forum, or link to it posted on Flickr or elsewhere. For a limited time, if we end up using your picture in our store, we’ll give you anything you want at the store for free!

Check out the new Revision3 store! >>>

Best of iTunes 2008 - Diggnation, Tekzilla & Scam School

December 3rd, 2008 at 06:02 by Ron Richards in Announcements, Shows

Apple is one of the biggest supporters of new media with their podcast section in iTunes and for years we’ve thoroughly enjoyed providing our shows for users of iTunes. That makes it extra special and awesome when we find out that the folks like iTunes like us too. We were stoked to find out that that three of our shows were selected to the Best of iTunes 2008 list.

In the 2008 section, Scam School was selected as one of the best video shows of 2008. While in the Classics section, Diggnation and Tekzilla were selected as 2 of the best classic video shows.

We want to thank everyone at Apple for this honor, as well as everyone who uses iTunes and chooses to watch our shows on their iPods, AppleTVs, iPhones and computers!
