Amazing Diggnation in London!

on October 11th, 2008 at 07:01 am by Jim Louderback in Announcements, Live Events, Shows

We had a great time at the Future of Web Apps in London, and it was capped off by a tremendous live Diggnation!  Kevin and Alex were in their element, as 1,700 screaming fans showed up for the fun.

The full Diggnation will be out Friday October 17th, but here are some sneak peeks behind the scenes that I shot on my flip video camera.  Enjoy!

The great thing about this Diggnation is that Google bought free beer for everyone!  Fans grabbed fistfuls of Becks to bring in to make sure they had enough beers for the full show.

Virgin sponsored the Diggnation.  Here Revision3 VP of Sales Brad Murphy, and Alex Hunter from Virgin position the Virgin sign in just the right way.  Thanks to Virgin for sponsoring!

We had 1,700 people show up for the live Diggnation, it was wild.  Thanks everyone who showed up.  We all had a great time at the show, and at the after party sponsored by Facebook and Digg.

So and then the next morning, we all met for tea and breakfast, and then set out to the Virgin corporate offices in London to tape the next week’s Diggnation there.  Most of us took a Taxi, but Kevin and Alex had the ride of their lives…  on a Virgin LimoBike!  Here are a few videos of Kevin and Alex encountering the bikes for the first time, and then getting suited up and ready to go!

Checking out the Virgin Limobikes and getting suited up and ready to go.  These bikes are so cool, and so much faster than taxis in London.  Sign up for one today!

Off they go!

So after Kevin and Alex showed up, we toured the Virgin offices, and then the set up for a Diggnation in this really cool conference room in the offices, that sort of looks like you’re on stage at a Virgin music festival.

As I was doing a quick little video walk through, coincidentally they were talking about my new favorite phone, which unfortunately I had to give back, the Nokia E71.  You won’t see this episode until October 24th, but it’s awesome too.

Diggnation Live in London

on October 3rd, 2008 at 09:14 am by David Prager in Announcements, Live Events

Hey everyone,

Diggnation LondonIt’s me, Prager, yet again only writing on the Revision3 blog for shameless promotions for Diggnation. But hey, what better place to talk about Diggnation than on the Revision3 blog — plus its something I’m excited about and hope you will be to.

Diggnation has a live taping on Friday, October 10th at 7:30pm (London time) from The Future of Web Apps conference in London! Additional details here: http://london2008.futureofwebapps.com/socialize

Following the show, there will be a Digg Meetup (read: huge party) with drinks provided by friends from Facebook (Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg himself will most likely be in attendance).

I’m sure many of you may not be in and around the London area - but if there is any chance that you might be, or any reason to decide to make plans for it - we would absolutely LOVE to have you join us.

Cheers!

David

Ride the Revision3 Train to San Jose!

on August 21st, 2008 at 03:18 pm by Ron Richards in Live Events

Of course you’re well aware of the upcoming Diggnation live in San Jose next week on August 26th at NVISION’08, right? Diggnation is going to be held at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, which has a capacity of 4,000! We want to fill those seats and get the show rocking!

If you’re like us and you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, you’re probably wondering how to get to San Jose. Well wonder no longer! Not only do we have all the information you need to get to the Diggnation show, but we have an exciting announcement!

If you’re planning on taking Caltrain down to the event, you are invited to join the OFFICIAL Revision3/Diggnation train ride down to San Jose. Revision3 employees will be boarding a specific train from San Francisco headed to San Jose and we want you to come party with us on the way down! It’s BYOB (yes you can drink on the train, responsibly and if you’re over 21 of course), but we’ll be bringing some Revision3 swag to giveaway to anyone who comes along. So grab your buddies and head to the train to go see Diggnation Live! This is a great opportunity to cause a Diggnation Flash Mob on Caltrain and ride down in style with other San Francisco Diggnation fans and help us pack the house in San Jose. Don’t forget that the show in San Jose is 100% FREE!

Here are all the details:
Meet up @ 4PM at 4th St & King St in San Francisco’s Caltrain Station. Look for people holding Revision3 signs by the track entrance for the 4:19 train.
The train leaves @ 4:19 and arrives @ 5:27, so be sure to come early!

UPDATE: From San Jose Diridon Station, you can take a free shuttle (called DASH) which will drop you off to the destination. So, no need to pay $1.75. The DASH will leave at 5.29 and 5.37pm. [Thanks to divyamistry]

From Caltrain (San Jose) Cahill St. & Crandall St. we depart by bus [$1.75] @ 5:33. We are dropped off on San Fernando St. and walk NE to Alamaden Blvd., turn right and arrive at 255 Almaden Blvd. San Jose, California 95113 where NVISION 2008 and the show will take place at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts.

Hope to see you there!

thanks.

Vote Revision3 at SXSW

on August 21st, 2008 at 10:04 am by Ron Richards in Live Events

The SXSW Interactive event in Austin Texas has become one of the best meeting places for the future of this thing we’re all caught up in called New Media. It has become the gathering place for the creators and business of Interactive and New Media and an event we wouldn’t miss for the world - great panels, great parties, great people - it’s really a cool conference, which is a tough thing to pull off.

One of the things that’s super cool about SXSW is that it’s very involved and participatory. So much so that they ask for our and your help in picking the panels that will be presented at the conference. By registering at their nifty Panel Picker you can let your voice be heard by voting on the panels you think are interesting and you’d be interested in attending.

I’d be remiss in failing to mention that Revision3 has got a bunch of panels that were submitted to SXSW Interactive - you can see and vote for them all at the SXSW Panel Picker. So if you have a few minutes, please take a look and check out what we have to offer at SXSW. We’re pretty psyched about what we have to offer, with some interesting and relevant topics to share with our industry and help facilitate some good conversations. So take a look and of course, vote for us and help us get on the panels at SXSW!

The New Media Expo is coming! This coming weekend in Las Vegas tons of New Media experts, stars, up and comers and professionals will be gathering to discuss the trends and practices of doing business in the 21st century in the world of New Media. The Totally Rad Show heads to Texas for ROGCon this weekend!

on August 5th, 2008 at 03:01 pm by Ron Richards in Live Events

The Totally Rad Show team will be down in Dallas this weekend to attend the Republic of Gamers Conference. At most gaming conventions the controllers spend more time in the hands of professionals rather than guys like you or me. Over the last decade the emergence of elite gamers has really helped to propell the industry to new heights but alienated the players who ultimately support the industry….This is not the case at ROGCon which is open to everyone and focused on creating a HUGE public LAN party where the public to decides which games are part of the competitions and compete to win computers and other big prizes. Beyond being able to play the games, all of the big dogs on the industry will be there showing off the latest hardware and software, much of which has not even hit the market yet. Best of all, registration is FREE!

The TRS team is really excited to headed down to an event that is focused on the gamer and what gamers are interested in most: actually getting to play video games. Big thanks to ASUS and Intel for putting on the event…..we hope to see you there!

Wine Library TV Celebrates 500 Episodes - LIVE on July 10th in San Francisco!

on July 9th, 2008 at 05:18 pm by David Prager in Live Events

Gary Vaynerchuk has reached many milestones since creating Wine Library TV. We’d like to think that one of them is becoming a part of the Revision3 family. More important than that though is his latest milestone: the epic and awesome accomplishment of reaching episode 500!

We are extremely excited to be able to bring this episode to you streaming live at Revision3.com/watch. The show will begin at 7pm Pacific (10pm Eastern), and the stream may go live several minutes before.

If you happen to be in the Bay Area - we invite you to come see the show live in person at Crushpad. It is a free event for all ages, but we appreciate your RSVP here: http://applications.crushpadwine.com/event/62.3

Crushpad is located at 2573 Third Street, San Francisco, CA

We respectfully encourage attendees to feel free to bring a bottle or some finger foods to nibble on. At the bottom of this message, please see the note from our good friends at Crushpad who have been so generous in hosting the event.

If you can’t join us in person, we hope you’ll join us live online at 7pm Pacific tomorrow at revision3.com/watch to celebrate and tape episode 500 of Wine Library TV!

Cheers!

David Prager

From Stuart Ake from Crushpad:

The event will run from 6pm until 10pm (pacific) with Episode Number 500 set to stream live at 7pm (pacific). We’re truly excited to be a part of this opportunity to meet/reunite with Gary and fellow Vayniacs over good wine and light bites.

What to bring?
While several outstanding small production wineries will be on hand to pour, we respectfully ask that you please bring finger foods and/or a bottle to share. It’s a good idea to put tape with your name on any serving utensils/plates you plan to bring home. If coming from out-of-town, you can pick up a variety of delicious finger foods at the Ferry Plaza. The Ferry Plaza is located at the Embarcadero near a T-Line stop.

As you know, the BYOB/snack component is an absolute highlight. At the Vayniac Barrel Sampling last December, the wines and food were outstanding and thoughtfully chosen. If you are bringing a white wine or rosé, let us know upon your arrival so we can get the bottle chilled. We’ll also have several tables set up for you to place red wines. (In addition to some stinky cheeses, I’m planning to bring a Russian River Pinot and an Austrian Gruner I’ve been wanting to check out).

Help out?
As you know, we’re expecting a large turnout on Thursday. If you are interested in helping at the event for a hour, we’d love your assistance! Simply email me and I’d be happy to provide details. We’ll organize your time so you know what to expect and who to check in with when you arrive.

Smart & Safe
I highly recommend taking public transportation on Thursday. Muni’s T-Linestops a 1/2 block from Crushpad at the corner of 23rd Street and 3rd Street. If you are coming up from the South Bay, we’re just 3 blocks from the 22nd Street Station on CALtrans. Super easy! If you choose to drive, there are more parking spaces available behind the building on Illinois Street. If entering from the Illinois side, simply walk across the winery floor to sign in at the entrance.

Where to bring?
CRUSHPAD
2573 Third Street (between 22nd and 23rd Streets)
San Francisco, 415-864-4232

If you can’t make it, please let me know so we can plan accordingly.
Questions? Don’t hesitate to give me a call or email. I’ll see you on Thursday at 6pm (pacific)!

Thanks,
Stuart Ake
