SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 26, 2012 — Revision3, the leading Internet Television network and the number one source for original technology, gaming, news and entertainment video content, today announced its growth results for 2011. The company grew its revenue 53% year-over-year. Total views across the network increased nearly 359% with close to 800 million worldwide views for the year. The company also increased its YouTube subscriber base by more than 4x, ending the year with nearly 4.5 million YouTube subscribers across all shows.

Additionally, Revision3 started off 2012 with a bang, by delivering more than 9 million views in one week from its groundbreaking coverage of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). At CES, Revision3 produced nearly 230 individual pieces of video across nine different shows and channels.

The company also continued its strong tradition of technology leadership by being the first to deploy a 100% HTML5 player across its entire platform, and by extending its app strategy to even more phones, tablets and smart TVs. January 19th, 2012 at 06:03 by Jim Louderback in Announcements, Press Releases

This year was the most coverage we’ve ever shot and released from CES!

Revision3’s team of hosts, shooters, editors and uploaders released 214 segments of original tech content in just 4 days. Our tireless team also put on 3 HD live streams from the show floor, hosted by Tekzilla’s Patrick Norton, using a TriCaster.

The views are still coming in, but as of this morning, we’ve reached almost 7 million views!

In addition to the Tekzilla team, we brought 7 other show teams, including GeekBeat.TV, Hak5, Soldier Knows Best, TechnoBuffalo, Ty’s iHelp, AppJudgment and our newest show/host, Philip DeFranco (YouTube’s PhillyD). We set up 6 editing systems in a dedicated post-production space at the convention center for quick and seamless distribution of segments.

Using Revision3’s trusted show hosts on-site allowed us to bring our viewers an authentic and personalized look at the CES stuff that mattered most to them.

Our entire production was in partnership with Ford which included on site show integrations and branded sponsor reads. All shows were distributed across the Revision3 Platform including Revision3.com, YouTube, Facebook, iTunes, Roku, Boxee, GoogleTV, Android and more.

All segments can be viewed at Revision3.com/CES2012!

See you next year!

The Philip DeFranco Show Joins Revision3!

January 6th, 2012 at 11:09 by Ryan Vance in Announcements, Press Releases, Shows

Anyone watching the online video space over the past couple of years has seen the explosion of YouTube and the elevation of YouTube creators into legitimate stars. One of the biggest stars among them is Philip DeFranco. He was one of the first “vloggers” and remains not only one of the most popular, but one of the best. His point of view continues to be whip smart as he hilariously deconstructs all the day’s news. It’s this point of view that had amassed him a dedicated audience of 2 million subscribers on YouTube.

We first met Phil at SXSW 2011. I was immediately struck by how smart and humble he is, while having a true vision for himself and his business (which employs a number of talented people). Phil is extremely careful and savvy about how he approaches every decision and every move he makes with his shows. He’s helped launch the careers of a number of top YouTubers and has launched a number of extremely popular channels on the platform. He’s got a nose for talent and “what’s next” that few in this entire industry share. He’s become a friend over these past months and I’m extremely excited to be working with him so closely.

I encourage our audience to check out Phil’s show if you haven’t already. I think you’ll soon make him a part of your daily routine.

Meanwhile please join me in welcoming him to the Revision3 family of shows! We’re excited to have Phil and his production team, including Matty, James and Dani on board!
