Revision3 Hits NATPE

December 16th, 2009 at 01:29 by Ron Richards in Announcements

Here at Revision3, we make television, and while we release it through this newfangled thing called “the Internet,” at the end of the day, we make television. So naturally we look forward to opportunities to meet and participate with other members of the Television community, and one of the best events for that is NATPE, The National Association of Television Program Executives. Jim Louderback, Revision3 CEO; Ryan Vance, VP of Programming and Alex Albrecht, host of Diggnation and the Totally Rad Show will be attending and participating on planels at NATPE.

The fine folks over at NATPE sent us some info to share with you:
The National Association of Television Program Executives, NATPE, is hosting their annual Market & Conference in Las Vegas this January 2010 before they pack up and ship out to Miami. Viva “Last” Vegas is the motto to live by for this year’s conference, and NATPE is seizing every opportunity to make it a great experience.

NATPE 2010 will feature an updated, bustling marketplace floor, a jam-packed three-day schedule and exciting special programs and features.

The Celebrity Chef Kitchen is back this year with culinary masters Charlie Palmer, Paul Bartolotta, Richard Blais, and Brian Malarky (just to name a few) cooking up some fun on the marketplace floor.

The confirmed speaker and session moderator list is looking pretty exciting with some major industry giants. Monday, January 25, (delete Day One out of the three,) boasts entertainment mega-players such as David Zaslav, CEO & President of Discovery Communications, the entire cast of ABC’s Modern Family, Bill Lawrence, Creator/Executive Producer, Scrubs and Cougar Town and Michael Eisner, former Chairman & CEO of Walt Disney Company and founder of Torrante company. To top it off, the 7th Annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards take place Monday evening honoring Jeff Gaspin, Irwin Gotlieb, Judge Judith Sheindlin, and David E. Kelley. And that’s just Day One!

What about Days Two & Three, you ask? Check out the schedule.

NATPE 2010 is guaranteed to be a hit with this line-up, so if you’re looking to rub elbows with some industry geniuses, talk some biz, and learn a lot, register now to ensure your spot at the conference. Here are some helpful links:

Revision3 Represents at the 2009 Podcast Awards

November 16th, 2009 at 07:33 by Ron Richards in Shows

The time has come for the annual Podcast Awards, brought to you by Podcast Connect Inc.! Here at Revision3 we’ve worked super hard on all of our shows this year, and we’re stoked to announce that many of them are getting recognized and nominated for various categories.

Several of our new shows in 2009 were nominated:
- Film Riot is nominated for “Best Produced”
- ROFL is nominated in the category of “Comedy”
- CO-OP is in the running for the “Gaming” category

Film Riot is also joined by some of our classic shows: Diggnation, Scam School and Tekzilla, as nominees for the very competitive category of “Best Video Podcast.” We’re honored to represent 40% of the nominees in that category!

We want to thank all of you, our loyal Revision3 audience in your support of our shows and for nominating them to be considered for these awards. We love the Podcast Awards because it’s completely audience submitted and voted on. In previous years, Diggnation and The Totally Rad Show have won, and we’d love to add some more wins in 2009.

So you know what to do! Head over to the Podcast Awards website and show your love! You can vote once a day, every day, until the voting period closes on November 30th. Winners will be announced during a live Podcast Awards Ceremony in mid-December - exact date is currently TBA. For updates along the way, you can follow @podcastawards on Twitter, or Podcast Connect, Inc. coordinator, Todd Cochrane at @geeknews.

So with our deepest gratitude, you guys rock! Your loyalty and support keeps us going. Thanks and let’s get some great Revision3 shows some wins!

Prager’s Diggnation Update: NYC, Hoodies, DVDs

November 4th, 2009 at 11:51 by David Prager in Shows

Hey guys!
It has been a while since I’ve posted on ye olde Revision3 blog - so I thought I’d take a moment to with a couple of cool updates regarding Diggnation. We’ve rounded the bases twice now, passing the 200 episode milestone just 27 episodes ago…whoa, has it really been already 27 episodes since we passed 200?! Wow.

Specifically of note in this most recent episode (that would be 227) is that Kevin finally ditched his beloved Mac to use a Windows 7 PC -but not just any PC, the brand new Nokia Booklet 3G.

Next up, we wanted to make sure everyone knows about the fact that we’ll be doing a live Diggnation for the 2nd time this year in New York City. We’ll be at The Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center on November 17th from 7pm until late. We’d love it if you would let us know if you can come see us by RSVPing on our Facebook event page.

Coming later this month, we’ll have brand new Diggnation branded hoodies in the Revision3 Store. We just may be throwing some out into the crowd at
the New York live show.

Finally, also in the store later this month, expect to see the first official Diggnation DVD. In it, we’ll have a compilation of best of moments from 200+ episodes of Diggnation, some deleted scenes (yes, we have actually deleted scenes), plus never before seen footage from live events and other behind the scenes footage. Oh and we pieced together every last joke sponsor of Diggnation into a whopping 25 minutes of back-to-back joke sponsors - it is quite an entertaining piece of video.

Thanks for reading and for all of your support through the years!

- David Prager

Roku…here comes Revision3

October 15th, 2009 at 04:27 by Jim Louderback in Announcements

Yes Brian, There is a Santa Claus

A few weeks ago I got a message from Revision3 fan Brian Desmon, asking whether there was any chance of Revision3 shows appearing on Roku’s groundbreaking internet video box – known mostly for its integration with Netflix on Demand.

I had to skirt the issue – but no more! Finally I can tell the world! Revision3 will be on Roku! Our amazing team of web designers and developers have been slaving over the implementation for the last few months – and their amazing efforts have borne some pretty tasty fruit.

I still can’t say exactly when, beyond “very soon now”. But I can give you a sneak peek of what it’ll look like. Check out this week’s Tekzilla for a look at the upcoming Revision3 channel on Roku. And if you don’t have a Roku, what are you waiting for? It streams Baseball, Netflix movies and Amazon Unbox today, with a wide variety of other video channels coming soon.

The box itself costs $99. And unlike today’s services, we’re going to be 100% free – and in amazing high definition as well (if your internet connection is fast enough).

That’s right, now there’s even more reason to buy a Roku! So if you love our shows, and want to watch them on a big TV, pick up a Roku today. They make great holiday presents too.. (hint hint).
