Introducing Hippie Glenn’s Toasted Donut

November 15th, 2011 at 09:00 by David Prager in Announcements, Press Releases, Shows

There has always been the proverbial man behind the scenes. Most franchises also have a face. “The Face of the Network” or “The Face of the Show”. It’s not often that the man behind the scenes is also “The Face Behind the Scenes”. Diggnation‘s man behind the scenes is Hippie Glenn, and to fans of Diggnation, the cameraman has become as recognizable as the hosts.

Glenn’s creativity is a force to be reckoned with. Here are just two examples that have come out of his work on Diggnation: a day editing Diggnation told in 2 minutes and Diggnation at SXSW 2010.

But that’s not the sole reason the camera so often gets turned on him. The camera always turns on Glenn because he has always got a Toasted Donut. When Kevin and Alex (the hosts of Diggnation) ever have a peculiar quandary or topic, Glenn is the first to interject with a unique and entertaining take. Got a stale donut? Just slice it in half, toast it, and it’s fresh as new.

As the regularly scheduled Diggnation series comes to a close, that contribution of Glenn’s to an old episode of Diggnation was the inspiration for the name the new weekly series featuring Glenn McElhose that we’re proud to launch today. The show will feature creative skits, weird stories, food, nutrition, health, travel, and interviews. All of them told through the unique lens of Hippie Glenn.

We’re thrilled about Glenn’s enthusiasm in allowing us to provide an outlet to express his stories, insights, philosophies, and overall creativity and hope you’ll come along for the ride.

Jimmy Fallon, President Bill Clinton and Blueberry Pancakes!

April 21st, 2010 at 12:13 by in Announcements, Shows

This is a huge week for us here at Revision3! To kick things off, I hope you all saw Kevin and Alex on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Friday. The guys did an amazing job on the show and Jimmy kept them out there for an extra segment. Backstage, it was awesome to see that Tracy Morgan is essentially just like Tracy Jordan: prowling the halls of 30 Rock entertaining everyone non-stop with impromptu comedy routines. Today, we released the Diggnation episode we shot with Jimmy, so make sure and check it out. Jimmy truly is the nicest guy in show business, a real class act. His show staff, led by Mike Shoemaker and Gavin Purcell are fantastic to work with as well, and we can’t thank them enough for hosting us at 30 Rock.

So what else is going on, you ask? Well we’ve got a couple of huge releases coming tomorrow. First, a brand new show is launching called Food Mob! This is a truly interactive cooking show hosted by professional chef Niall Harbison. He’s going to be featuring a new recipe every week. These are simple recipes, aimed at the novice chef, giving you the skills you need to impress your date or your friends. The interactivity comes in once you try out the recipes. We want to get your pictures and videos (via flickr, youtube, twitter) of your wins and epic fails and we’ll feature them on the show the following week. We want to make this show a two-way dialog between you and Niall. The first recipe is for white chocolate blueberry pancakes….I tried making them and they’re amazing…just don’t plan to move for an hour or so after you eat them. You’ll be able to watch the show every week and try the recipes yourself starting April 22! And as an added bonus on April 22, Rob, the producer of Food Mob, will be answering your questions live on Twitter- @FoodMobTV at 6 PM Eastern/3 Pacific.

Speaking of two-way dialogs, we are releasing one of the most high profile Digg Dialoggs to date tomorrow: a special Earth Day Digg Dialogg with President Bill Clinton. We shot this Dialogg on Monday in New York and it was a fantastic experience. Clinton could not have been better to work with, and it’s amazing to see him in person talking about the issues he’s so passionate about. He also made a point to meet and chat with everyone in the room. What they say about his unending charisma is true, he’s got tons of it. The host of this episode is Boback Firoozbakht, a student at the Clinton Global Initiative University and grad student at the Rhode Island School of Design, and he did a great job. Check out this episode tomorrow to see President Clinton talking about the electric car and addressing global warming skeptics. You don’t want to miss this.

So yeah, it’s a huge week on Revision3, but as always, we have tons more on deck in the coming months. Stay tuned for more BIG announcements and BIG names!
