Revision3 Adds Film State, New Weekly Show, To Network Line-Up

March 8th, 2011 at 11:00 by MHdeadhead in Announcements, Press Releases

What’s New in Movies, From Film Riot’s Ryan Connolly

Revision3, the leading Internet Television network, today announced the addition of a new and original show, Film State, to its network of more than 20 programs. The show, hosted and created by Film Riot’s Ryan Connolly, offers a fun and laid-back, yet fast paced look, at the latest movie trailers, rumors and news.

Film State is the movie news show for the Internet generation. Honest, smart, irreverent, concise, and authentic (did we mention Ryan is an actual filmmaker?), the show cuts through all the movie clutter to bring viewers the only news and entertainment tidbits they really need to care about.

“Film State is something that I have been wanting to do for a while now”, said Ryan Connolly. “When I was younger I used to love watching a show called ‘Coming Soon’. Since that show went off air there hasn’t really been anything up to par. Hopefully Film State will bring that, plus our sense of humor, to the fellow movie lovers out there.”

Each Tuesday, Ryan will geek out on everything from entertainment and box office news, to the most talked about trailers, and what’s new in theaters and on DVD. Ryan is on a personal mission to make sure no one wastes another hard earned dollar on a bad movie again.

“We are incredibly excited to continue our relationship with Ryan Connolly,” said Ryan Vance, vice president of programming and production, Revision3.  “Ryan’s success with Film Riot has proven that he is an extremely knowledgeable and entertaining source of movie information and insight. We look forward to watching Film State evolve and grow as part of Revision3.”

FILM STATE airs each Tuesday and will run approximately 10-12 minutes in length. More information can be found at www.revision3.com/filmstate

The company was founded in 2005 by technology visionaries Kevin Rose, Jay Adelson and David Prager because they couldn’t find anything they wanted to watch on traditional television. The company is now led by Internet TV pioneer Jim Louderback. About Ryan Connolly:

After graduating from Full Sail University’s film program, Ryan went straight to work refining his craft. Over the past seven years he has written/directed several short films, commercials and live show videos; including work with DELL, Ford, HP, AMD, EA and Alienware. Ryan is also the Founder and President of Triune Films which produces Film Riot and Film State. They are currently in production on several other short films, music videos; and are in the process of developing their first feature length film.

On a personal note, he is an avid singer in the shower, hates long walks on the beach and decided to marry his wife purely off the fact that she is more addicted to ‘Call of Duty’ than he is!

Revision3 Adds Roy Bahat to Board of Directors

February 16th, 2011 at 10:39 by Jim Louderback in Announcements, Press Releases

Hey everyone,

We’ve got some “official corporate news” to share today (yeah, yeah, I can hear the yawns already…). But actually, it’s really good for Revision3, even though it involves the boring topic of corporate governance. So without any further bloviating, here it comes:  I’m super excited to announce that Roy Bahat has joined Revision3′s Board.

Roy is a super-smart media industry exec who is currently the President of the awesome gaming media company IGN Entertainment (but to be perfectly clear, his role as a Revision3 board member will be in a personal capacity and is not related to his role at IGN).

Why Roy?  Well he’s got an incredible amount of online video and digital media industry experience, which will really help us.  Plus he used to work for the Mayor of New York City, which is really going to help next time we need to do an indoor shoot at Gracie Mansion.  Oh, and he’s wicked smart, as his bio shows:

Roy Bahat is president of IGN Entertainment, which he joined in 2007.

IGN, a division of News Corporation, is a leader in videogame media, as well as video, digital distribution, and online game technology. Roy works closely with News Corporation to oversee the company’s broader online videogame strategy.  He is also a lecturer at UC Berkeley, where he will be teaching a course on media this spring at the Haas School of Business and the School of Information.

Before joining News Corp., Roy worked on various startups and was in the public sector, both in the office of New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg and at New York’s 2012 Olympic bid. He previously worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. Roy graduated from Harvard College. He was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where he was also a lecturer in undergraduate math and economics.

Of course, I’m more impressed by his unofficial bio:

Roy played his first games on a Commodore VIC-20, never plays side quests, and was last spotted pretending to be on a “health kick” by playing Dance Central. His gamertag is kingalabaster.

Welcome Roy!
