SAN FRANCISCO, June 22, 2010 – One of the premier tastemakers in technology joins Revision3 as the company announces the launch of Tom’s Top 5 featuring Tom Merritt, internet personality, top iTunes tech podcaster, former journalist at CNET and TechTV, and now TwiT Network host.

As a past guest on ABC’s Good Morning America and CNBC, Tom Merritt brings his vast experience to Tom’s Top 5, easily distilling today’s hottest gadgets and the weirdest internet memes into one easy, weekly show.

Tom’s first show kicks off today with the top 5 Must Have Geek Gadgets, followed the next week by Tom’s picks for the 5 Worst Syfy Shows. He has covered various topics of interest to mass audiences such as “Top 5 Google search terms for Winter 2010,” “Top 5 Worst Tech Product Names,” and “Top 5 Tech Practical Jokes.”

“I’ve always been a big fan of Tom both personally and professionally, but then, he pays me a lot to say things like that,” said Ryan Vance, Vice President, Programming & Production, Revision3. “Since his check did indeed clear, let me also say that Tom is going to bring a ton of credibility and humor to this new show and we’re really thrilled to have him officially join the Revision3 family.”

New episodes of Tom’s Top 5 will be released every Tuesday, available for viewing via download or streaming 24/7. As a bonus to Tom’s Top 5, Tom will interact with fans by giving away coveted prizes in “Tom’s Lame Giveaways.” First prize is an iPhone case touched by the smart and sassy Veronica Belmont herself, tech journalist and host of Tekzilla.

“I’m excited about working with a lot of folks I know and respect to do a show format I love,” said Tom Merritt. “Plus they’re allowing me to give away stupid prizes, which makes me very happy.”
