Blip Festival 2009, Part 2
Wednesday, January 20th, 2010 running time 14:18
We're back on the floor of the Blip Festival for more chiptune madness, and also catch up with some of our favorite game developers. We cannot be held responsible for any face-melting that occurs during watching. We also cannot be held responsible for our own ridiculous hyperbole. It's a condition and we cannot help it.
Segments
Blip Festival - Show Floor Reactions/JDD3J Interview
We go to the show floor to see who everyone's favorite acts are and interview Je Deviens DJ en 3 Jours.
Je Deviens DJ en 3 Jours - EMAIL FOR MUSIC
Interview: Anamanaguchi/RainbowDragonEyes/Failotron
Anamanaguchi is one of the biggest names in the chiptune scene and RainbowDragonEyes had one of the best sets at Blip2009 - getting them both in one room nearly opened a rift in spacetime due to awesome overload.
We also revisit with Failotron and learn some lessons of self-promotion.

Feedback: Best Chiptune Game Soundtracks
Instruments. Psssh. Orchestral arrangements. Pffft. Disc-based audio. PFAH! All the real game soundtracks in the world are written in sequencing software and played through sound chips. At least, that's our theory. We asked you to help us back it up, and here are your case studies.
Next week's Feedback question: What's your favorite Winter-themed game level? Weigh in with a video or audio comment on www.Bytejacker.com or leave a message on our hotline: (530) 675-GAME
Interview: Phil Fish, Kokoromi
Phil Fish is one of the members of Polytron, the team that's bringing us Fez later this year, and Kokoromi, the collective that created GAMMA - a yearly showcase of indie games based around a single theme. This is GAMMA's fourth year and the theme is "one-button games." We talk to Phil about the creation of GAMMA and why events like it are important to the gaming community.
Interview: ADAMATOMIC
Adam Saltsman is the creator of iPhone favorite Canabalt, as well as previous Bytejacker pick Gravity Hook and the Flixel framework for creating games in Flash. We talk about the breakout success of Canabalt and the importance of atmosphere in games.
