Episode 388 of the Destructoid Show:
Ah, the modern gaming era. Day one patches, online passes, and of course, permabans on consoles. As we're nearing the launch of the sure to be mega-hit Black Ops II, Treyarch has layed out a few ground rules. (Chris Carter)
If you decided to try and save a few clams by skipping out on the collector's edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 but lament missing out on the included Nuketown Zombies map, you're going to get a second stab at it. Activision announced today that the additional map will be made available to purchasers of the Black Ops II season pass in December (on Xbox 360; other platforms to follow). (Conrad Zimmerman)
A group of lucky 4chan members visited Valve HQ recently (what?!) and they tried to get some questions in on upcoming projects during their visit. I'm glad that someone asked about those hints to a Source 2 engine that we saw some time ago. When asked about it, studio boss Gabe Newell answered: "We've been working on new engine stuff for a while." (Dale North)
Square Enix has just unveiled the Collector's Edition for Tomb Raider. A survival kit tin houses an 8-inch Lara figure, a 15x19 map/poster, a 5x7 lithograph print, three iron-on badges, a 10-track soundtrack disc, and a weapons pack DLC code. (Dale North)
Former X-play host Adam "The Sess" Sessler is getting back to his roots, he says, with his new gig at Revision3 as editor-in-chief and executive producer of games content. Ryan Vance, VP of Programming and Production at Rev3, says that Sessler will join our friends Max, Tara, Anthony and Zac in doing all the crazy, wonderful sh*t they do every week. That's a pretty solid team in my book. (Dale North)
