Nintendo 3DS XL is coming to North America on August 19th for $199.99, hitting shelves right alongside New Super Mario Bros. 2. The new top screen is now 4.88 inches, up from 3.5 inches on the original model. The bottom screen also gets a bump up from 3 inches to a bigger 4.18 inches. (Dale North)
BioWare has slapped a release date on the "Extended Cut" downloadable content for Mass Effect 3, and it's right around the corner. The free, 1.9GB download will be available for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in North America on June 26, followed by a European PlayStation 3 launch on July 4. (Jordan Devore)
Blizzard has clarified some details surrounding the "review process" that new players will have to undertake when purchasing a digital copy of Diablo III. It seems that the studio misspoke when it said that players under review would be stuck in the Starter Edition of the game -- however, new users will still be stuck behind a gate until they're deemed worthy of full entry. Hideo Kojima has confirmed Metal Gear Solid 5, finally saying what everybody expects him to say every time he's interviewed. So far, there is no information on the game itself outside of the fact that it'll run on the FOX engine, and that any FOX engine details shown so far have nothing to do with this sequel. So far, the biggest news out of the latest Nintendo Direct Japan press conference is that Namco Bandai will be teaming with Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai's studio Project Sora to developer the next Smash Bros. title. (Jonathan Holmes)
I haven't played Pokemon since the originals, but there's been an itch developing for the longest time making me want to get back in. What better time than with Pokemon Black or White Version 2! The two new games will be out this Fall for the DS. (Hamza Aziz)
Nintendo just announced that the demo for the upcoming 3DS title Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance was set to go live... RIGHT NOW! (Jonathan Holmes)
In an interesting twist, the upcoming 3DS title New Super Mario Bros. 2 will have additional coin rush stages made available via DLC, to be sold sometime after launch. (Jonathan Holmes)
