Duke Nukem Forever is really, really REAL this time, and it's coming out May 3rd! How about that for a piece of news on this Friday? Sure, we knew it was resurrected by Gearbox and coming to PC, PS3 and 360, but to have that date, and to feel like it's actually possible, is quite a sensation indeed. That wasn't it for today's show though, not by a longshot. We've got news that Dead Space's Isaac Clarke is making it to Dragon Age 2, as well as some gameplay footage of Deadspace on iOS. We've also got the shocking revelation that there will be a Smurfs video game tie in to the forthcoming movie, and check out the AMAZING Starcraft 2 mod: World of Starcraft. It's in pre-alpha right now, but it's basically the Starcraft MMO we've all been waiting for. Oh, and be sure to tune in to Revision3.com/watch on Monday at 12 PM PST/3 PM EST to watch our very first ever LIVE show!
Destructoid show episode 42, TGIF edition! Lets go:
Story #1 - Dead Space 2 and Dragon Age 2 - together they taste great!. Buy Dead Space 2, and you'll get Isaac Clark's armor in Dragon Age 2. I, personally, am very excited by this. Both of these games cannot come soon enough!
Story #2 - Dead Space iOS Gameplay Footage Looks good. Poised to hit the app store next week, Dead Space 2's little brother should make a fine addition to the best non-3d mobile gaming platform out there (if you don't mind that pesky lack of buttons).
Story #3 - Smurfs movie tie-in game is incoming. Shocking? Perhaps not. Troubling? Almost definitely. Is anyone reading this excited for this game? If so, please berate me in the comments.
Story #4 - World of Starcraft combines World of Warcraft with... you know. So an awesome fan went and made a massively-multiplayer Starcraft game with the Starcraft 2 mod tools. Judging from this video, it looks pretty damn impressive. Blizzard agrees! After Activision removed the video from youtube, Blizzard invited the modder to the campus to chat about the mod (and to allow the legal team to kindly ask him to change the title, we'd imagine). Still, we hope we get to play this one day.
Story #5 - Duke Nukem Forever gets a release date. It's May 3rd. We're almost there, friends. Gearbox was kind enough to send along a new trailer with the news.
Story #6 - Mr. Destructoid makes it into the new Bitejacker game. Fellow Revision3 show, and friend of the program, Bytejacker, now has its own videogame. Entitled Bitejacker, the game pits you against legions of zombies, and allows you to try and survive as Anthony Carboni (or die a quick death, depending on your personal preference). Mr Destructoid makes a cameo as well!
Hey, we're doing the show LIVE on YouTube next Monday, January 24th at 12 PM PST/3PM EST. We're going to be chatting about the most anticipated games of 2011, and would love to hear from you. We'll have a full chat room going so be sure to check in and let us know what you want us to talk about. Tune in at Revision3.com/watch and join in the discussion.
