Previously, we had heard a bit about the character Michael, a middle-aged man who moved to Los Santos to retire but was drawn back into crime. In this newly released video, we learn a little more about him, but we are also introduced to Franklin, the young gangbanger trying rise up and leave that life, and Trevor, who appears to basically be a redneck psychopath. (Darren Nakamura)
So tell me if this sounds good: A randomly-generated dungeon crawler with rhythm-based combat set in the 1970s that mixes funk/soul with Norse mythology. That's Soul Fjord, Airtight Games' (Quantum Conundrum) latest game. It stars the beautifully afro'd warrior Magnus Jones. He's dead, working to fight his way into Valhalla. The party don't start until he says so, apparently. (Dale North)
Ubisoft has put out a gameplay trailer today with the news that this title will arrive on November 19 in North America and Nov. 22 in the UK for Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, PC, Wii U, and "other next-generation consoles" (i.e., the next Xbox). (Jordan Devore)
Techland, the folks behind Dead Island, Call of Juarez and others, have just announced their next title, a co-op first-person slasher called Hellraid. This game is coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year. (Dale North)
Blood Dragon is well made, and thoroughly entertaining to lovers of the eighties, but in many ways, it becomes a victim of its own success -- the core ideas are so fun, so lavishly crafted, one aches to see them in a game equal to their quality. (Jim Sterling)
