Happy Friday y'all! HUGE news shook the gaming industry late Wednesday, when Wired revealed that Nintendo was retiring... and then he wasn't. Or he maybe is, later. Either way, Max and Anthony break it down, along with news of Saints Row DLC, Bastion coming to Chrome, Chrono Trigger coming to iOS, and way more. Put on your knickers, it's Ren Fair time. This is episode 241 of the Destrictoid Show.
First Miyamoto is retiring from Nintendo... and then he wasn't. That was a hell of a ride.
We wanted to remind you that Square Enix's lovely SNES time travel RPG is available on the App Store today for iPhone and iPod Touch. But instead of rambling off some facts you already know about the game, I'm going to give you the very first App Store review of Chrono Trigger, titled "BEST.GAME.EVER!" Enjoy. (Dale North)
Google has been ramping ups its gaming presence steadily this year, with plans to make Chrome a viable gaming destination. Those efforts got a significant shot in the arm last night with the reveal of Bastion, formerly an XBLA/PC title, now playable in Google's browser. (Jim Sterling)
Want some Saints Row: The Third DLC? Have a Shark Gun, a Zimos suit, and a grenade launcher. 2 bucks each.
Earlier this week, I got some hands-on time with Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning, the mutant brain-baby of fantasy author R.A. Salvatore, comic book artist Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls series alumnus Ken Rolston. With their powers combined, along with Big Huge Games, they've created the next massive open-world action-RPG being developed by Big Huge Games. Watch the full video for my impressions as well as footage that you'll only see on Destructoid! (Max Scoville)
