On today's Destructoid Show, we've got reviews for Resident Evil 6 and WoW: Mists of Pandaria, a Halo 4 multiplayer trailer showing off its new Mech Battles, and what Ubisoft is referring to as an "uninformed" fan reaction to Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Also, is the upcoming XCOM FPS going third-person? Let your speculation run wild!
Buckle up. The new WoW review is here!
http://www.destructoid.com/xcom-might-have-become-a-third-person-shooter-235925.phtmlThe mystery deepens with screenshots and information taken from a marketing survey that were sent to Kotaku by a reader. Apparently, XCOM is still being worked on, though it has -- or is at least contemplating -- going third-person. Would such a shift even matter to skeptics? (Jordan Devore)
http://www.destructoid.com/zone-of-the-enders-hd-comes-next-month-in-two-flavors-235786.phtmlIn case you were wondering what's new, Mists of Pandaria raises the level cap to 90, overhauls the pet and talent systems, adds new dungeons/raids/battlegrounds, and introduces a new race and class. This all sounds great on paper, but is it worth upgrading WoW for the fourth time?
http://www.destructoid.com/splinter-cell-blacklist-reactions-are-uninformed--235918.phtmlUbisoft didn't exactly thrill Splinter Cell fans with its presentation of Blacklist so far, showcasing Sam Fisher romping around the middle east, stabbing terrorists with wanton abandon. It looks like a departure from the series' roots, but Ubisoft says such a perception is the fans' fault. (Jim Sterling)
http://www.destructoid.com/take-control-of-mechs-in-halo-4-s-multiplayer-235912.phtmlFully controllable mechs are now part of Halo 4's multiplayer mode. Halo Waypoint has the video now, displaying the Mantis mech equipped with a machine gun, rockets, and the ability to stomp on enemies or vehicles. And like the vehicles, opposing players can board the Mantis, plus a charged up Plasma Pistol will shut it down for a few seconds. (Hamza Aziz)
http://www.destructoid.com/review-resident-evil-6-235326.phtmlWhen you first start playing Resident Evil 6, it looks like it might almost be a joke, perhaps a stealthy parody of big-budget action video games. It begins in the aftermath of an explosion, seen from a first-person perspective, and the entire introductory sequence is littered with quick-time events. There is a helicopter. (Jim Sterling)
