Jonathan Holmes joins us for a Skyward Sword review, Skyrim has sold a bunch of copies, people are working on next gen console hardware, PS3 users don't get the Saints Row shaft, and much more. This is episode 231 of the Destructoid Show.
Bethesda has officially announced news that will shake the Earth -- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim had a successful launch! The publisher boasted "more than fifty perfect review scores" and expected global sales worth $450 million. (Jim Sterling)
At E3, THQ promised an exclusive gameplay mode (featuring the dildo bat) in Saints Row: The Third for PS3 users. It seems however, that such a promise was not kept, with no extra PS3 features appearing whatsoever. (Jim Sterling)
Edge says that Ubisoft Montreal are using 'target boxes' created with the next Xbox's specs in mind. A source tells Edge that deliveries of the first genuine dev kits are expected to reach studios before Christmas. They also say that all signs point to the next Microsoft console arriving at retail in late 2012. (Dale North)
Looks like everyone's favorite Italian wall crawler will have more friends join in on the multiplayer action on December 13th. To coincide with the release of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Ubisoft has just released new information regarding the first piece of downloadable content. (Jason Cabral)
Despite all this, the game was a huge hit, signaling to third parties that the cheapest, most effective way to make a successful Wii game was to make and/or port a standard PS2/Xbox/GameCube-era title and tack on some motion controls. Of course, we all know that strategy didn't really work for third parties. After the initial honeymoon period, Wii owners expected more than that. They wanted something like Skyward Sword. (Jonathan Holmes)
