HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Today we've got spooky new trailers for Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Until Dawn and Castlevania: Mirror of Fate, along with an official release window for GTA V and a digital promotion for anyone who buys the Deluxe version of the Wii U. Also, Disney is acquiring LucasFilm and we've got a list of horror games that everyone should try at least once!
Episode 383 of the Destructoid Show:
Rockstar has made clear their intentions to marry your daughter release Grand Theft Auto V in spring of 2013. Awesome. I'm sure we'll all be well and caught up on everything else coming out in the first quarter. I mean, it isn't as though there are half a dozen other major titles releasing in that window. (Conrad Zimmerman)
As announced today in a press release, The Walt Disney Company has agreed to acquire Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion (approximately half paid in cash, and 40 million shares issued). Perhaps more relevant to our interests as gamers, this move will indeed include LucasArts -- in addition to Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound. (Jordan Devore)
Nintendo really wants us to believe that they're serious about getting into the digital distribution game with the Wii U. Today, they announced the Deluxe Digital Promotion, available to purchasers of the Wii U Deluxe console, which will reward purchases of digital games made through 2014 with eShop credit. (Conrad Zimmerman)
This is certainly an (un)pleasant Halloween surprise. Frictional Games and thechineseroom have posted a teaser trailer for Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and here I am, creeped out -- it's not even 9:00am. Today is off to a great start! (Jordan Devore)
Sony released a creepy new trailer for the upcoming "teen horror" game from Supermassive, Until Dawn. There's a creepy cabin, buzzsaws, a dude who looks like he's having a bit of a bad day and Polaroids of kids with numbers on them. Looks like Halloween to me. (Conrad Zimmerman)
