NEXT-GEN Tomb Raider! The Future of Graphics, More Movies, and DANCING!

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 – running time 10:01

Are you guys ready for the future of video game graphics? Well good, because EPIC is ready to show it to you. Last week at GDC Epic showed off a real-time demo of the new Unreal 3 engine in a video code-named "Samaritan," and it's now available for public consumption. What do you think? Is this the future? Aside from pretty tech demos, Max and Tara chat about the new FPS Warm Gun, the possibility of a Dance Hero franchise, the reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise, and the success of the Kinect. Plus, get drunk on NES.

Destructoid show episode 62, UNREAL-ity edition:

Story #1 - Wii titles delayed to focus on 3DS, Pokemon. No word on what titles exactly, but Reggie tells us to keep waiting so we'll keep waiting.

Story #2 - Warm Gun is like Borderlands and Team Fortress had a baby. Supposedly integrates iOS versions with console versions. Interesting.

Story #3 - Is Activision preparing to launch a Dance Hero franchise? Dance is the new guitar.

Story #4 - New Tomb Raider movie will be a reboot. That's Hollywood code for "this hopefully won't be as bad as the other ones."

Story #5 - See those next-gen Unreal Engine 3 Graphics.

Story #6 - Microsoft promises more core Kinect Games. Hardcore is better than softcore right?

Story #7 - NES Cartridge breathalyzer. Codenamed the drunkNES - this is awesome.
