HP Buys Palm; Kevin Drops the iPhone!
From engadget, "HP has just announced that it's acquiring Palm to the tune of $1.2 billion, which works out to $5.70 per share of Palm common stock. The deal is planned to close by July 31, which marks the end of HP's third fiscal quarter of the year. Current Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein is "expected to remain with the company," though it's not said in what capacity.
Kevin goes on to discuss his new toy, the Droid Incredible! He broke is iPhone, and although he can now actually make calls... the Android apps just suck compared to Apple. Spoken like a true fanboy.

Google Confirms Android 2.2 Will Support Flash
Google's Andy Rubin revealed that the upcoming version of the Android mobile operating system will fully support Flash technology. Code named Froyo, Rubin says Google's definition of openness "means not being militant about the things consumers are actually enjoying." The guys go on to discuss the fact that an ad-sponsored Twitter will be the death of the free service. Would you pay for Twitter? Kevin, maybe; Alex, no way.

Slave Leia Car Wash!
How many of you love Slave Leia (ahem, Princess Leia in a golden bikini)? Yeah, everyone. Iconic, nerdy, hot - undeniable. So check out this video a guy took as Slave Leias cleaned up their ride. Kevin then finds a Star Wars Burlesque show. Princess Leia is a pretty damn good thing. Hear that, ladies?

Fox News Calls Mr. Rogers "An Evil, Evil Man"
So, apparently, the kids today that grew up watching Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood are ruining society due to their lazy socialist tendencies. Just because he called us all special, just as we are. They say there's some kind of study of unproductive citizens traces back to beautiful days in the neighborhood. Say it again, Fox, and we're gonna be pissed!

The Art Of The Accidental Penis [Pics]
"Though many things can be phallic, and at times some of us are more prone to see cock in things that don't necessarily look like wang, these below images leave little doubt of what they resemble. Short, long, wide, skinny, shriveled...these members here can be appreciated by all." So unfortunately un-Photoshopped (mostly)! One of these gems even comes from our very own studio guy, Brett! Check out his penile contribution of Upper Crust Pizza. Enjoy, perv.

I love the tech talk, but was a bit annoyed that they didn't realize the FOX story was a bad attempt at sarcasm. Fox & Friends is supposed to be their 'casual' show so to speak, with jokes and sarcasm, and I guess Kevin and Alex failed to see that that was what the lady was attempting with the 'Evil, Evil Man' statement.
Note : I'm not a fan of FOX news (or any 24/7 news channel), I was just annoyed.

Awful episode, all the gushing over how great Apple and iPhone is made me turn the episode off instantly.
I wish Kevin would stop gobbling on Steve Jobs rooster, its getting very boring, we get it you love Apple/iPhone it doesnt mean Android is crap just because you are too stupid to work it and like the dumbed down experience you get with iPhone.

Really? It didn't seem sarcastic to me... :( it seemed too elaborate. But then again I never watch Fox News.

I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, which runs Android and I find it much better than an iPhone. I even have a friend who uses an iPhone and he prefers my x10, but it wasn't out when he bought his and he didn't want to wait.
I have never had a problem putting the caret between two letters (admittedly my fingers aren't that fat, my dad is a builder and has real problems with all touch screens).
The OS works really well for me.
The apps all work well, though I don't find myself using many of them other than the built in ones (facebook, google maps, google talk, etc is all built in). I use Meebo a fair amount but that's about it.
There is an app called Rev3Remote too for streaming Revision 3 shows.
The screen resolution is very high on the x10 and the processor is very fast. I have no problems playing high quality movies.
Things aren't where you expect them to be always happens when you move from one interface to another. It would happen if you moved from Android to iPhone too.
I get about 2 days battery life between charges with the wifi on 24/7 and under fairly heavy use when I'm awake. Apparently there's a new update for the x10 coming out in a couple of days to improve battery life too.
For turning processes off I use an app called "Process Monitor" (by Simon Chung @TW), which is free and works well and only requests access to processes. There are a lot on there though that for some reason request access to every tiny part of your phone. Parts they really shouldn't be using. I tried one called Advanced Task Manager or something similar to that and I could actually feel my phone heating up while it was on, so I have no idea what that was doing.
If you go to your "settings" menu there is a page there that shows a detailed analysis of what has been using the battery life since the last charge, and I find that no app has ever gone above 2% for me. It's usually the system, wifi and screen.

Fingerprints on screen
Anyone else found themselves wiping their screens with a cloth because of the fingerprints that show up in the video between Alex and Kevin's head on the wall?I downloaded the show in HD and I was watching it in a 52 inch lcd screen and though: "Who the hell put their fingers on my TV?". (I don't have kids so it's just me and my wife and neither of us EVER touch the TV. We always use the remote). I tried to ignore it to no avail, to the point it annoyed the hell out of me so I paused the video, stood up, wiped the screen with a cloth and it didn't come off. A little panic, and then I thought: Is it possible that the camera had fingerprints on the lens when they shot the video?
I raced to my desktop, played the video, and took a deep breath of relief. Then I wrote this. :D

A few things:
1) Apple has an unfair advantage when it comes to itunes. For people like my parents, Itunes does not inform you that the filetype you are downloading is only able to be played on the Itunes browser, and not only that, it acts as a monopoly over the digital distribution of music.

Apple just uses standard unprotected AAC MPEG 4 audio for songs bought through iTunes. The format is .m4a. All a company has to do is support that format. The Zune supports that format as well as some Sony's and Creatives. The idea that you are only able to use iTunes tracks on an Apple device was only true when everything was DRM'd because of the record labels.

I didn't notice that, until I just looked back. It's something on the wall, probably a quick coverup of a hole that used to be there. The camera at one point zooms in and out a tad, and it doesn't travel with the lense.

What I find typical (an somewhat amazing) is in the discussion of tweet ads where KR admits that they push relevant/irrelevant ads when on Digg..
Kevin... if U sold 15% of the stock your worth.. you will have more cash than most of us will earn in our lifetime... Stop pushing for the $tezation of superfluous webs that dont help anyone except yourself.
With your connections and money/stock ... U along w/ Gates could probably cure malaria or tuburculosis... but instaed U are now promoting Ad/pop-up/corporate leeches.
Ok...yes I drink tea at times ...
More of a rant later of a guy who has the $ where he could retire and live like royalty, but continues to bow-down and spew propaganda.
Dude.. Kev.... Where did U lose UR way? .. come back to us Dark Tipper (knight of the poor that had free alternatives to the $ gouging corporates)
Now you are promoting ads, and pay appz, and I guess you feel that everyone makes the disposable cash that you have.
Yes... if I was worth afew million./. I'd love to hang W/ U and Hippie and Alex.. (and wish I hadnt sold out)...
But I wont... and from UR Random podcast.... Do you hang w/ any1 who isnt on the UP-train? Do you discard someone who is happy where they are as middle/lower (tho their honor/spirit soars) class?
TRS's Dan, Jeff, and Hippie Glenn have felt enuff of a copnnection w/ the fans to at least make a comment on the forum.
I dont think KRose had in anyway acknowledged/commentred to his fans on Rev3 in a halfdozen years
I used to respect you.. now I see UR a gimme gimme user

2) Twitter having advertisements doesn't seem like a big deal to me personally. In many ways, Twitter itself is just 1 big advertisement. Every tweet you send out basically acts as a way to communicate to the public, and you can easily use it as a advertisement tool as it is. Therefore, twitter "ads" is a bit of a redundant statement.
3) I find it funny you don't use adblock. I used to not use adblock, but as soon as I hit university campus internet, I got a million more ads on sites such as youtube, nicovideo, ustream, livestream, and more! Honestly, the ad rate in videos was ridiculous. Therefore, I had to get ad blocker.
