1 Million Calls Placed from Gmail in 24 Hours

If you're as big as Google, there's no such thing as a small product launch. So when Google introduced voice calls into its webmail service Gmail, essentially launching a Skype competitor, it was bound to be a popular feature. How popular, exactly? Well, according to a tweet from Google, the users seem to love it, as more than one million calls were placed in the first 24 hours since the feature went live.

Badass Dancing Brazilian Baby

Wow. This baby looks fake, seriously. Watch, and be jealous of a fetus. Kinda makes us want to have a baby though, you know? Right? Train it to do cool shit like that, come on!

Cannibal Restaurant in Germany

The location of the restaurant - if it exists - is being kept a secret, as is the identity of the owners and investors behind it. As a foretaste of its menu, Flime is suggesting traditional Brazilian dishes such as bolinho, which it describes as "fried tatar balls with a sweet-sour dip", or feijoada, a main course consisting of "various pieces of meat with black beans and rice". It does not specify what type of meat is used. Animals do it all the time, what's the big deal?

Badass Electric Moped

The Art Center Summer Show is typically a nice way to get the pulse on what upcoming, West Coast, American designers are doing. One project that struck me in particular, and prompted a healthy respose on the core77 discussion forums, is Daniel Yorba's Cycletron One electric moped.
