NHTSA

Far too many people do not understand that alcohol, drugs, and driving DO NOT MIX. The message is simple guys: Drinking and Driving? Over the Limit? Under Arrest....don't put yourself or others in danger. Law enforcement officials will be out in force all over the country from August 25th through September 6th, cracking down on drunk drivers. Beyond putting your life at risk, you could cost yourself a bundle of time and money: jail time, the loss of your driver's license, higher insurance rates, and dozens of other unanticipated expenses from attorney fees, other fines and court costs, car towing and repairs, lost time at work, etc. The worst/best part of drinking and driving is that it can be avoided so easily. You can still go out and have fun, just plan ahead: if you are going to drink, designate a driver, call a taxi, use mass transit, or find some kind of sober ride program.

Ford

Ford is back to sponsor the show again this week. We've shown you a bunch of footage of us using the Fiesta this summer... it's a lot of fun to drive and is packed with technology. Speaking of, one of the coolest things about the Fiesta is the SYNC technology and they are upping the antae every day. A few weeks ago Ford announced a collaboration with 'Tech-Shop', an open access workshop that provides creative minds access to work space, tools, and machinery to dream up and develop their latest inventions. Ford's collaboration with TechShop is centered around tapping ideas from outside the automotive space to come up with first to market new technologies such as SYNC and an example of Ford's overall open innovation model. We've had a lot of fun with the Fiesta and SYNC technology so far and, with things like their TechShop collaboration, we are excited to see what future innovations Ford has in store for us. Thanks again to ford for sponsoring this week.
