Avatars are disabled at the time being. Things are still being worked out, but this is something that will probabaly be enabled in the near future. Thanks for the input.

Irony is that the avatars were playing up a week or so back for people uploading new ones.

Just an old member, aligning himself with the Aria/Badger way of life. Warned multiple times for various things, on permaban due to a culmination of things. Legends abound about his rise from the ashes like a Phoenix, but the ones called Gimpbully, Chuckles and the rest of the moderators shall ensure no permabanned user shall return. Of course Aria and Badger are the only ones telling the Legend.

Rumor has it he still lurks the forums in another form, but this has yet to be proven, for revealing himself shall mean banishment yet again.

Permaban = permanent ban.

Usually a banning is less than a week, on few occasions some users need to be shown the door as we lock it behind them and throw away the key.

Again, while I cannot remember specifically what went on, it was a culmination of things. You know, warning after warning after warning.

I think things hit a fever pitch around the whole "we want Diggnation released on the same day" thing, some stuff in private also came into play. But permabans don't happen at the drop of a hat, unless your first post is spam in which case I do perma. I hear Tokenuser tries to rehabilitate such posters.

Oh, I thought Klitzy was "double-secret permabanned" ---

"Every Halloween, the trees are filled with underwear. Every spring, the toilets explode" (Animal House)

The basic idea is someone gets perma-banned for pulling the most wildly hilarious of pranks. Even the moderators would be rolling in the floor, but you have to enforce the rules.

To be fair- Klitzy was indeed warned time after time. I know this because I warned him a few times myself as a moderator.

Guytheninja

I'm not saying to unban klitzy. I'm just saying it would be hilarious to perma-ban someone for "Animal-House" like reasons.

Of course, obtaining such a double-secret permaban may be doable in theory -- in practice it is most likely impossible.:(

samureye

Well, with some things, such as the Diggnation release for all on the same day or being hosted on other sites, personal opinion may very well be in-line with the people causing a ruckus, but we have to act based on how we're instructed, which means throwing whatever you think out the window. Or, people whom you might agree with may just be handling the situation poorly.

The Game was on Leno and wow umm I think he sucked big time might have been due to the fact it was more of a ballad he "sung" than a rap song. I still haven't found a rapper I like besides Snoop.

I suppose ICP could count sorta.

Nothing beats: Snoop, Dre, Biggie, Tupac the Wu-Tang Clan, Eazy-E & NWA! :)

Yeah, I just listened to it for the first time in more than 20 years. Amazing they got away with saying some of the stuff back then, (faghag, and the prison rape thing, and pretty much unedited on the radio back then.) but i got no issues with it. Was just the nature of that time, and that society, but It is good that they were actually giving advice and wisdom to the younger kids from their community. as far as I know, rap now not only doesn't to that, but sadly makes heroes out of those who do what they were warning about back then.

Oddly enough, I wasn't a a big blondie fan until after they faded from the scene. When they were big I was heavily into more punkish stuff. They were "hyped" as punk, but really were more "new wave" ala cars, early Police, Flock of Seaguls, B52s, etc...

I loved all those bands, but they were no Clash or Sex Pistols. Or Even Pretenders... (god the Pretenders were awesome, Saw them open for the Who. Excellent concert.) Hey. They got a new song... Pretty good, too... but can't find it online. Any help?

meanwhile. "bad boys get spanked" from the tour I saw them on, Drummer is amazing.
