David Cronenberg kicks ass

Ello all,

This thread is just to tell everyone to go watch Eastern Promises.

I was blown away and also reminded of how much this man kicks ass. What a breath of fresh air for going to the movie theater. I'm sure allot of people will hate this, but for you few. You are in for a treat.

I'm not going to spoil any of this for people.

And if you have never seen a Cronenberg movie b4. this is a good one to start on. i would say his most "Hollywood" movie yet. (but still very Cronenberg)

P.S. Constructive criticism only please. Haters, take those pants off. ;)

Yesss, I loved it. One of the most memorable fight scenes I've ever seen.

That $hit was off the hook. the whole theater was laughing nervelessly at the end of that fight. Rock on naked knife fighting.:cool:

I love Cronenberg, but I disagree that people should see EP before his other films. Once you've seen Scanners and Crash, you realize what type of filmmaker he is. Much easier to start with his more 'out there' stuff than his more commercial films.

I saw Exiztenz way back when and I thought it sucked so bad. It wasn't that profound, and was selling with tags such as "Makes The Matrix look like child's play!"

I just found it really boring and pointless. His other movies might be good however...

I didn't like the fight scene. After the smaller Chechnyan guy comes up behind Viggio's character, who is on top of the other attacker, grabs Viggio's head and slashes him in the back(why?), all of the suspense was gone for me. It totally took me out of the scene, and I wasn't concerned about how hes was going to make it out of there alive anymore.
