Any thoughts?
I thought it was pretty damn awesome! (for a cartoon) I liked it. haha and the cameo of kevin smith too. Although i didnt like Anne heche as lois lane. Dana Delany is awesome. but i believe Bruce Timm said it didn't have anything to do with TAS version that came out on tv.

I was gonna pick it up but decided to wait. The whole not being connected to the animated series kind of sucks. The characters look almost exactly the same but have completely different voices.

Couldn't agree with you more . . . they did the same thing with one of the Batman, the animated series. Same artist style but different voices.
The Doomsday comic was fantastic. I'll have to order this movie on demand one of these days.

Cut and pasted from the other Superman Doomsday thread.
It wasn't bad overall.
Apparently, this wasn't done by the same people that did the Justice Leage cartoons. I have no idea why not. They got a bunch of celebrity voices who don't sound as good as their TV show counterparts. It doesn't match the show's continuity either.
And there was something seriously wrong with Supermans face.
I never read the comic of the death of superman. So I don't know how accurate it was on that front. I just know it didn't mesh with the show.

Actually it was made by the same people. It's not intended to follow JLU continuity because they want to appeal to a broader audience. I thought Anne Heche was excellent, particularly in the scene where she goes to Smallville.
Overall, it was... okay. Not as good as the best of the JLU episodes, but better than the Superman: TAS. It's a solid B. Not as good as what I was hoping, though. If you want really good Superman, go watch seasons 1 and 2 of JLU instead.

Yeah, what was up with Supe's "cabbage patch kids" cheekbones? Trying to compress a story that lasted several issues into this format kinda left it flat IMHO.

yeah that was a good scene, and i as well was not a fan of superman:TAS either. I just couldn't get over his funny looking face.

Huge Superman fan i'm gonna check it out. I really liked the first Batman Animated and I've seen some of the JL and JLU cartoons but not enough to talk about them.

This thing was...interesting. What the hell was up with Superman's face? I wanted to erase his cheekbones. I am guessing they did it to make him look older. If that was the case then he should already have married Lois, not been dating for a mere 6 months. I never saw Smallville, but I did see the older Cartoon on Kids WB and Lex is totally different, the voices of different, Lois' voice is totally wrong, the Jimmy guy is so gay and Superman resurrected looks like Super Jesus, or like he's in a Christian Rock band in the 80s. Overall an 7/10, but it suffers from some terribly annoying cliches. Something ominous is said and then there's lightning in the background? Give me a break!

What I always thought was funny about the Superman cartoons was that it's like in every show he forgets he is superman. Like the first one he is flying after these guys and they shoot at him. He puts his arms up and acts like he is in pain and falls. Then is like "Wait i'm ****ing superman" and flys back after them without stopping as they shot him over and over.
