You pick the name 'Tekzilla' for a show that will replace the infamous 'The Screen Savers'?
Imagine trying to tell someone about this show. . .then you have to correct the spelling for them. . .it's just a mess

correct the spelling? seeing as TekZilla isn't a "real" word (it isn't in the realm of "banana" or "chair"), it was an invented title....i fail to see how spelling errors factor in at all.

You are right...at least IMO. So the -zilla shows it's big and bad, and the tech- tells us what is all big and bad. And to me Techzilla looks dumb, so Tekzilla FTW. :)

I like tech but I don't like Godzilla. I like girls. Maybe it should have been called Tekbabes and had a bunch of half naked babes hosting it?

Tek makes me think of firearms...not technology.
And, personally, I think whoever came up with the name should be removed from making any other decisions, at all. But I look forward to seeing the show.

Well when my roommates, girlfriend, whomever asks what I'm watching I don't really want to say Tekzilla, that puts me at the high school D&D table in my mind. If I say I'm watching diggnation, kind of sounds cool. Although I also have a problem saying that I'm watching Cranky Geeks, I just reply "oh, an online show". The idea behind the name in psychological, otherwise this thread would have never even started. We may think the show is awesome, but name just doesn't fit it, it sounds like a friendless nerd coming up with a name for his robotic dinosaur. Nough said, coming from Marketing Major, Psychology Minor it really won't take off as much as it could if the name stays. He's thirty years old, living in his mothers basement, just ****ing kick him out.

It depends on what their targeted demographic is. If they're shooting for a more mainstream viewer, the name is horrid. It will keep a lot of folks away just because of the "hip", nerdish name. If they want to be taken seriously, a more serious name would have been appropriate.

Whatever dude. If they're going to give you shit for watching a harmless program, you gotta give 'em shit for givin' you shit. They ask "What're ya watchin'?", you say 'TekZilla. You got a problem with that?', then they sod off.
Of course, I'm six foot four and weigh 130 kilos, so, you know. I got the whole intimidation thing workin' for me, as such people generally do sod off when I give 'em a hint.
