We will not be offering a small QuickTime format for Tekzilla. The Large Quicktime files works with both the iPod and the iPhone.

We've been making tweaks to our encoding process.. when I say we.. I mean solely Brendan....

When you say Brenday, you mean the power of his shirts.

I was a bit dubious that the large quicktime version would work on my 5.5G iPod with the smaller resolution screen, but it worked like a champ.

Two thumbs up :)

Wow, that is awesome. I was a little worried since I didn't see any small quicktime version, but now I know why! Thanks for letting us know.

What's cool about this is when you do a TV-Out it will actually look decent.

What's even cooler is that you can stream it over wifi straight from safari if you select the download large quicktime link. Works on my touch and even lets you rotate the video however you want, unlike the regular video player. Awesome!

And since all the new apple portable devices support component out (480p) it will look even better :)

iPhone added Widescreen TV-Out with the 1.1.1 update :)

Ive noticed the Large Quicktime has taken a bit of a quality hit since being a .m4v rather than .mov

I realize that the large quicktime looks much better than the small quicktime, but for those of us with 8 GB iPod nanos, or touches, or iPhones, the ~250 MB file size is quite a chunck of our device. I know it would be extra work, but it would be wonderful, as a consumer of your content, to have the small quicktime Tekzilla available as an option for Podcast subscription on iTunes.

Thanks, love the show, and keep up the good work.

Not appearing in iTunes? Then add it in yourself ...

Go to iTunes.
Go to "Advanced | subscribe to Podcast ... " menu option
Enter "http://revision3.com/tekzilla/feed/quicktime-small" in the dialog box as the feed name.

Done.

I did see the small quicktime link on the Download page. However, I did not know about that option in the Advanced menu, as everything I have ever wanted had been available in the iTunes Store. Thanks!

I usually watch all Rev3 shows by visiting the site in Safari on my iPod Touch, but now the large Quicktime file for Tekzilla is all of a sudden not supported. What happened?

I'm having this exact problem. At first, I thought something had gone badly with an update 1.1.2 (and subsequent Jailbreak) but I downloaded the last episode and tried moving it to the Touch, and that worked. Bitrate, filesize and dimensions all look similar, so what changed?

There was a problem with the encode. We've fixed the issue and we're pushing a new one out as we speak. Should be available within the hour.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

What's changed? All the prior episodes synced just fine. iTunes grabbed the latest episode just fine but refuses to add it to my iPod each time it syncs.

For the PSP use iSquint, FREE and pretty quick. Convinced the Mrs to get me a eeePC so HOPING it'll play the 640*480 version without conversion ;-)
