View Full Version : HD Subscription Feed Downloads Large Quicktime Version

What's up with the HD feed downloading the Large Quicktime version? Is that a mistake? I hope it is because having to manually download each HD episode is a little lame.
I can't even find a feed to subscribe to in the first place.

seems to work. All the shows follow the same format so you can pretty much guess the feed URL.
rss feeds can always be found on the show (not episode) page, on the right side.
eg: http://www.revision3.com/tekzilla

Ah, I usually click on the show but I clicked on the episode (it was on the front page, couldn't help it lol).
Anyway, the HD feed is fine.

I have the same problem with the HD feed on iTunes on my Mac. Works fine with NetNewsWire.

Any time I paste in the HD RSS feed, it changes itself into the Large Quicktime version. Seems like there's some kind of problem with the feed that only iTunes on a Mac is choking on.

If you look at the HD RSS feed you'll find this:
<itunes:new-feed-url>http://revision3.com/tekzilla/feed/quicktime-large</itunes:new-feed-url>
What's up with that? Can someone please fix this?

I am having the same problem. When I paste the above link into iTunes on OS X is gives me the large version, not the HD version.

Feed still gives me the large quicktime and not the HD version.

I've tried this in iTunes on both Windows and Mac systems, and when I subscribe to the HD feed iTunes changes the Podcast name to "Tekzilla (Large Quicktime) and sends the 263MB large QuickTime file, not the 410MB HD H.264 QuickTime file. I checked again just now (Sunday evening, 9:15pm) and it's still not sending the HD file.
Also, if you search for Tekzilla in the iTunes store, you'll see two entries, both for the large QuickTime format.

Are you pasting the HD feed into Itunes? I'm using Miro and it downloads fine.

Yes, I'm pasting http://revision3.com/tekzilla/feed/quicktime-high-definition as the HD feed into iTunes and as I wrote before, iTunes takes it and turns it into "Tekzilla (Large Quicktime)" and downloads the smaller file, not the HD file.

I am having the exact same issue. I am DLing manually. Also, the feed links should be on the episode page too. I couldn't figure out where they were.

I am not having any problems with it. Here is a snapshot of iTunes downloading the feed..

If you already have the feed in iTunes, delete it and re-add it to see if that will fix your problem.

i am having a problem with the HD feed as well. Episode 1 worked fine when i streamed it to my xbox360 but now episode 2 is saying it is not supported. This has happened with this week's diggnation as well. Not sure if it is an encoding error or a feed error. Any feedback would be great.

Might be encoding. The encoding was changed to a profile that works on Apple portable devices. Try it again though.
i redownloaded tekzilla just now and it works now.. diggnation is not working still thought..

Anyone having similar problems with finding the HD feed in itunes?
Is it still available thru itunes?
Also anyone have any suggestions with the WMP11 and Xbox360, i seem to have to update my library in WMP11 in order to see the HD .mov files on the Xbox360, at first I thought it was an encoding problem but a simple refresh of the library made it viewable. Anyone know of a way to script this action?
