Okay, how difficult do you think it would be to transition into tech support for my company from e-mail security analysis? I'm thinking of trying for a move. Yeah, it'd be full time without the ability to come and go as I please, but the pay would be better and there'd be benefits.

People person? Handle abuse well? Know the platform you apps run on inside out? People person?

If you can answer yes to each of those, then go for it.

Make sure you negotiate time off for school.

No. Mostly. Not really referring to me. No. Depends. <-. No.

I'm staying away from tech support if I can help it because of the people person thing. You really have to be prepared for the worst and deal with it because you can't just tell them to go **** off. Smooth talking and being able to cox thing out of the client (to find out if they are actually lying about not screwing up themselves) also helps. Just added my 2 cents for no reason but the pay is pretty high (considering the job) for a reason.

If you do go for it, good luck.
