there isn't a single best computer manufacturer...it all depends what you want to use it for...if you want just a cheap desktop or laptop that's pretty good, get a Dell, if you want a slightly more reliable system, get a Gateway or an HP, if you want to use Linux, go IBM or HP...like i said, it all depends what you plan on using the system for. Personally, i think the best computers in the world are ones you've built yourself because you can build it to do EXACTLY what you want the system to do.

If you build it yourself you can be sure all the hardware is quality. A lot of those manufacturers use refurbished parts.

I have noticed that you have been asking a lot of the old newb kind of questions. The kind of questions you have been asking, like this one is usually people's opinion, one might be better, but no one really knows. One person can like this company for this reason, and someone else not.

It's complicated. I would choose dell.

Honestly, the best way to get a computer is to build it yourself. Just pick a CPU that you want, and then find a quality motherboard that supports it. Build out from the motherboard by choosing compatible parts.

If you want to buy from an OEM, you're pretty much on your own. You should just find the sweet spot between price and reputation. You won't have much control over the hardware quality, but at least you know it will work (ahem... >_>)

A computer manufacturer is a lot like car maker you could argue all day about which one might be best, that said I'll make a couple recommendations Dell or Apple both make a solid machine and won't screw you. I highly recommend building your own computer, it really isn't that difficult, just do some research and ask questions if you can't figure it out and you'll have a machine that you know inside and out and have some fun doing it. Just decide what your budget is then what you want to do with it and find the best case, power supply, motherboard, cpu, RAM, Graphics Card, Sound Card, CD/DVD, Hard drive, Monitor, Keyboard/Mouse combination you can afford to do that job.

I think for a 12 year old your seem more mature than most and contribue to the forum; good on yah.

Every computer maker has their high points and their low points. It just depends on your preference and money situation.

If you have the money and time to spend then build your own. If not go with a dell, gateway, hp, or etc.
