I had this strange experience recently. I was behind on listening to my iFanboy podcasts (really, there is just no excuse for this, guys - my apologies). When I came upon the discussion about the surprise ending of the Black Canary/Green Arrow Wedding Special, I had no recollection of reading it - especially the ending with the knife fight and arrow in the neck. I do remember having picked it up and enjoying reading it, but I have no recollection of the content or ending. I went back and pulled it out of my "read" pile. I scanned it and vaguely began to remember the story. The same thing happened to me with Countdown to Adventure. Is it me? Am I getting dementia? Or are some stories just becoming that unforgettable?

I haven't read Wedding Special, so I can't vouch for it, but a lot of things I read lately from the big two, just don't phase me. I can generally pick it out when I need to for the sake of a bigger storyline, but some stuff is blech. My love of indie and adult title makes up for this.

You'd think that I'd remember something as startling as Black Canary plunging an arrow into Ollie's neck.

Unless you figured it really wasn't that big of a deal. Maybe you just wrote it off as being a silly marketing ploy or something.
I know I've done that on some Cliffhanger endings.

at time I forget bits of clever dialogue and when the three mention it I'll be all "oh yeah, that was funny"

I hear they have good comic shops in Florida. They also have a lot of electric wheelchairs, early bird buffets, and hearing aid stores. If you don't move there, I will.

Honestly, by the time the weekend comes, I have a hard time remembering what books I read on Wednesday. Typically, I will remember my favorite book from the past week (Iron Fist), but too often the rest is just a blur. It makes me think I shouldn't even bother with those other books. However when the next chapter of a comic comes, I can recall the plot of the last issue.

We read so much, so fast, it's really no wonder.
Steve, you read like 35 books a week. Nobody blames you for forgetting some of 'em. :D

I have this problem all the time. In my case-- and maybe yours-- it's because I read them at 12:30 Thursday morning. As much as we may will ourselves awake, sometimes our minds get tucked in before the rest of us. It's cheaper than drinking.
Recently, I was browsing my FF DVD-ROM when I came across those Art Adams issues in the 340s.
"Hey!" I said. "Rock on! I've always wanted to read these!"
Some days later, I was cleaning out my longboxes for eBay when I pulled out my FFs.
All the issues I'd "always wanted to read"? I had 'em all. Had 'em for years. Read every one.

Sometimes when just finishing a comic, as I close the last page, "What the f**k did I just read?" runs across my mind.

Steve, I just read you pull list. If you are handling that much on a week like this, you have no reason to be remembering a lot of the stories you read. If it was me, I'm pretty sure most characters would have all melded together into one super title by now. "Batman can't be their, he's with the New Mighty Avengers".
