Nice that GigaOm Show can even get into candid interviews with execs from even the giants of Silicon Valley. Really, it must take some talent to get these guys to take on the liability of appearing on camera, especially because tech executives aren't the best in the business world of holding back their tongues, and Om seems to jump on them pretty hard when they try and do so.

Also, BTW, why is this like the most dead forum on Rev3? Its almost as if the people who watch this show might have a life!

I really liked the interview my only complement is during the interview he was asked about vista and while answering he stated that the numbers don't lie and they have made promises to the share holders. I feel MS has lost there way in a way because have made the switch to Linux full time due to what is going on in vista. And i think If they don't get there act together they are going to start to lost market share to other platforms how can do it better. And while the consumer market is big, the enterprise market is one that MS does not want to lose. I work for a bank and i don't see vista as a long term goal for us in any way. All the IT/CS guys complete hate it and not in a way of just being anti MS, but we all have come to realize that it is just not the best use of system system resources. Which is kind of funny because most of the people i work with are die hard MS fans. I myself have been a Mac fan, but lately i have found that I can get more for by buck by going open source. I am currently running Ubuntu 7.10 beta and so for i have had 100% up time over the last two week(if i don't count the time I restarted during an up grade from the Alpha stage to beta), no hardware issues (even at install), all my hardware is supported in one way or another. I could say that for vista which i had (came pre-installed on my laptop), the second out of the box i was dealing with compatibility issue with a 2nd wifi card i had. I have since then switched from vista to 7.04 on my laptop and again i could be more happy. i do have a virtual machine running on my desktop with an XP image for little things like office 12 (which i use for school a lot of teachers require me to turn work in in .docx), and my blackberry but other then that, i have found non-proprietary software that gets the job done and usually for free. This saves me big money in the short and long term.

Oh and I forgot if MS is calling office live an answer for Google apps there are in deep with no way out. He did say there will be other MS answers to Google apps and things like Open office but, you can't fight free without offering free or sub $50 products. I really don't understand this part either they have to money and the name to pull this off an offer a free competitor to just at this point to show they are listening to the what we want.

And i also don't understand why this show is not one of the top shows on revision 3 i started watching diggnation but find that GigOm is my favorite show over all.

At first I was pumped about seeing you two interview an MS guy....until I saw how uncomfortable the interview was. It seemed like the guy walked into an ambush. It looked extremely awkward for him, and I wouldn't blame anyone to deny offers to come to your show. Of course people want to see some hardball questions that they won't find anywhere else, and I'm sure you all know that much of your audience would love to see MS get hammered....but this was unprofessional IMO.

In general I'm very impressed with the Gigaom show. In comparison to all the other Rev3 shows it has a very professional business air to it and I think thats why there are so many great guests.

I'd say however, that the MS interview seemed a bit canned. While Joyce asked more neutral (yet good) questions, Om was pretty tough on him. But Lewin seemed to dodge some of the real hard questions with MS Spin.

I don't think Om was too hard at all. Om was voicing many of the questions circulating on the blogoshpere. Its important to hear from a representative on these topics. With the negative buzz about Office and Vista and MS opening so many doors, but not really coming through with anything special.

As always, a good show.

Business IT geeks are different from tech geeks. I think most people in the industry would like to watch gigaom, but don't really like to spend their life in the net. I know that I like to spend more time away from the internet in my spare time.

Too bad there are no such companies like Rev3 in Australia. It looks like a very exciting time to be apart of this company! Perhaps I should start negotiations for an Australian devision. :P

I think this is really true, and if you look at most of the shows that are on revision3 they are now aimed to please a different crowd then they users that would watch GigaOm. I know this is not always true because i started watching diggnation and kind of stumbled accres the rest of the shows. And I must say GigaOm is my fav. show but diggnation is will pull more viewers at this point as far as internet show go.
