OK I ran this program with my 4 gig of DDR2 RAM. It ran for 12 hours and I didnt see any errors on the page. Does it run on a loop or it stops when it's finished cuz I turned it off after 12 hours, I think it finished a cycle... but I'm not sure...

did anyone else use this yet?

I tried running it because my notebook likes to reboot itself when it sees fit, to rule out the possibility of memory problems, I figured I'd check the RAM, and it rebooted while MemTest86 was running, which means my notebook has an overheating problem.

That doesn't answer your question.

I don't know. Someone else, help this man,

It stops when it's finished. It's several tests in one. 4 Gigs would take forever.

I've used Memtest86(+) for years and years. As it runs, you should see it run through each set of tests. The test loops. If nothing showed on the bottom area for 12 hours, it's a safe bet that your computer's memory is okay.

Strange, when I ran it it ran different tests (same test but with a different byte) and it eventually ended and said there was no problems. Although I have to agree, after 12 hours it's doubtful there would be a problem.

Every form of memtest86 I've seen will run endlessly unless otherwise specified. Generally, 1 pass will detect most errors but, many errors won't be found until many passes later.
