You guys are great and showing a lot of promise. Pat and Jess are doing great as main hosts.
It would be cool to bring in Leo as a third main host. And have all the TSS gang there in the background. Each one occasionally popping in for a segment. Just like the old show.
This is essentially what we all want.

100% agreed, but I think leo has his hands full already with all of the stuff he does.

Seriously. The Screen Savers was a great show. We have waited and waited patiently for it to come back. And it kinda has. But technically it hasn't.
If you are a fan of The Screen Savers and want it to come back fully. Now is the time. Tekzilla is the closest show that Revision3 has to TSS. And with a few more additions and some small changes we will have our beloved Screen Savers.
We need to make a stand as an audience and rally together. We need to fill this forum and others and Digg. We need to fill Twit's inbox and forums. We need to tell them "TSS or bust".
It's not like they don't have the money! But we have to do our part and demand it. We have to tell Leo Laporte that this is where we want him.
NOW IS THE TIME.

Not sure it really matters who hosts the show, but it becoming more like TSS would be great... though it would be lacking if Patrick weren't one of the hosts.
Kevin (Rose) seems to dislike the idea of a TSS reunion. On Diggnation he seems to avoid the topic like the plague.

Maybe we could change that Revision3 logo to the TechTV logo too.
Oh, and could we get this off the internet and on TV?
What about buying G4 and getting rid of all the games, and putting Unscrewed back.
Oh and Internet Tonight, bring Scott Herriot back.
Leo will not come to Revision3 - this is not The Screensavers.

Plus there's the whole thing about him just not going to do it. Period.

Some of us live in real life, where things go away. Usually people accept it.
And it kinda has. But technically it hasn't.
Realistically it's not, it's a new show. TWiT was called ROTSS initially, Return of The Screen Savers. For legal reasons it was changed to This Week In Tech, so that's your TSS return.
ekzilla is the closest show that Revision3 has to TSS.
Yes, close but no cigar.
And with a few more additions and some small changes we will have our beloved Screen Savers.
Time to move on.

We need to go outside more.
It's not like they don't have the money!
Dude, whose accounts are you balancing to make such a claim?

The only people touting this as The Screen Savers are the fans. No one at Rev3 has said it's the successor to TSS. Take it for what is, and for what it is, it's a pretty cool product.

First of all, can a mod ban all the G4 forum boys from here?
Second of all, this show seems nothing like TSS yet, but if they get more hosts and more segments, it could be more like it.
Of course TSS is gone, but TWiT is just audio. We need a video show to take the place of TSS, and this could be the show to do it.

Tekzilla has the potential to be like TSS. Its similar right now, but not enough for me to call it a TSS replacement just yet (doesn't change the fact that I love the show though).
In time, I think the similarities between the two shows will be more obvious. Give it time to grow.

man, I wish they talked to me before designing their studio. I (as usual :) ) had a genius idea...
(not just tooting my horn here, did that this morning, but really, (rim-shot) I worked in museum exhibits and design for decades)

Tekzilla from the sound of things will develop once the studio is up similar to TSS.
If you are really desperate for a TSS format show go watch Cnet live on thursdays it's exactly the same format just shorter at 30 min and true the hosts are boring compared to Leo and Pat...but there you go.

Yeah, come to think of it, Cnet Live is just like TSS. The thing I like about Cnet live are the "insider secrets" or whatever they call that segment. They seem to be pretty perfectly timed and themed how-to segments, and I would love it if tekzilla did something similar.
The main problem with Cnet live is that they try to do live tech support and it always fails miserably.(that always seems to be the case with call in support shows) Its like every episode you hear someone call in about his router not working and the fact he can't get an IP or anything...like thats easily resolvable over the phone. Even Leo's techguy show suffers from this effect with listeners calling in with much more basic questions. They always end up giving a half baked if baked at all answer and then it on to the next call/topic. I really hope Rev3 never falls for that trap... its definitely one of my pet peeves in broadcasting!

I don't know, Tekzilla doesn't seem like TSS to me. So far, Tekzilla has done a lot of product reviews and stuff like that. Here's my line of thinking. Jim Louderback becomes CEO of Rev3, Pat instantly gets a new show, Jim's show on TechTV was Fresh Gear, Tekzilla=Fresh Gear. That's what it seems like to me. Rev3 doesn't have one show that's like TSS, but lots of them combined equal the segments from TSS. But, for nostalgic purposes, I also would like to see a show that has everyone. Maybe Rev3 could do a show similar to TWiT, where it's the conglomeration of stuff that each individual show does...

NOW IS THE TIME.
THE TIME IS NOT NOW.
TSS is in the past. Remakes and revivals suck. Why not allow the same talented people to make something new. You'll enjoy it just as much, I promise you.

Actually, I don't think TSS hit it's peak before it was canceled when Comcast bought TechTV (screw you Paul Allen). A chance for Tekzilla to fill TSS' shoes is a welcome idea. Not saying I want it to be exactly like TSS in any way, but the idea of TSS was a good one.
That said, wherever Patrick decides to take the show will be a good one.

Come on People Rev3 has a lot of the TechTv Crew here I think you are all just cutting short the greatness to be had!
Revision3 may not be TechTv and Leo isn't here, but you all need to be happy that someone had the foresight to bring shows like
Tekzilla, Systm, InDigital, Web Drifter (We Gots to have "The Internets" Martin Sargent here! lol),
& many many more to a place we all can enjoy from home, work, or on the road!
Revision3 gives us all a piece of the past we lost to G4 and I think its great!
(Rev3 = The Next Best Thing to TechTv)
Tryout some of the other shows here and you just might think so too!
I came by way of Digg and keep finding new stuff all the time so LOOK AROUND PEOPLE!
All I see here is TechTv on steroids.
So much more of what we got before its shocking!

Truth be told Rev3 wouldn't be where it is today without TSS, even Leo wouldn't be where he is without it and CFH. To dis TSS is dumb. Many fans are here because we grew to trust the advise given on TSS and CFH. So to see rev3 people or moderators saying "get over it" is kinda offensive. But thought I was a huge fan then I still am now with the new incarnation. What did Mossberg say, Leopard was an evolution not revolution? Well maybe Rev3 is that revolution. It's off tv and in our hands. It's not driven by cable companies but by people trying to venture out into a blossoming media platform with the knowledge and experience gained through TechTV. Some old faces back is fantastic but it's a new show and an awesome "network". Just be kind to some of us stuck in the past. "Back in the day" does have meaning to some to try and respect that.

Cat usually does a lot of segments for the holidays around christmas time. Since she has a baby now that pretty much takes up a lot of her time. Her web site has been not updated lately but I am sure she will post something soon. As to your main question it would be great for cat to do a 30 minute show but with her having a baby now that would be hard to do. The best bet is to wait until the holidays for the segments she does.

I'd absolutely love to see Leo on the show.
It's a nice dream, but that's all it is. At this point in time I highly doubt that Leo would be anything other than a guest.
He has at least 1 podcast going every day of the week, sometimes two. Combine that with all the editing and site maintenance and everything else he's got going on, and he really doesn't have time for anything else.
Not to mention that I'm guessing he's extremely gun shy about affiliating himself with any kind of corporation ever again. With what happened to him at TTV, I doubt he's ever going to be anyone's employee again but his own. Look at the way he encourages people to self-publish, in fact he's a great example of it; the podcast network he's created is incredible.

I remember watching ZDTV, which soon changed into TechTv. My favorite shows would have to be CFH and TSS. I know TSS will never come back, lets just face it. I do hope, however, that Tekzilla will continue to improve into something similar to TSS. I'm glad to see Patrick Norton again.
It's good to see some familiar faces, but I'm extremely happy to see them evolving into something fresh and better. It's like seeing a friend you haven't seen in years only to find out that they've graduated from med school and they're a doctor now. You're glad they're doing well, but you miss the old days sometimes.

I also feel people like Neha is the future of REV3 she and others will carry the torch.
