I hear you on that.

It's funny. Green Lantern was always my favorite character. I never really picked up the GL book though. I guess mainly because Kyle Rayner is my favorite Lantern and since I've been back it's been a Hal book.
I'm loving this Sinestro Corp though.

Between Annihilation last summer and Sinestro this one, I can't believe I'm buying outer space comics!

WONDER WOMAN #13

http://www.dccomics.com/media/covers/8173_180x270.jpg

Written by Gail Simone; Art and Cover by Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson

An electrifying new era begins for the world's greatest superheroine! Gail Simone (BIRDS OF PREY, SECRET SIX) joins the phenomenal art team of Terry and Rachel Dodson for what promises to be one of the most exciting Wonder Woman stories ever!

What exactly is the Circle, and what deadly secret do they hold about Diana's birth? What familiar face from Wonder Woman's past returns with a mission to spy on Special Agent Diana Prince? Why is the Department of Metahuman Affairs on a collision course with the wounded remnants of the Society of Super-Villains? All this plus monkey assassins in a story that spans the globe and shakes Diana to her core!

I really hate to be difficult about this but that was the solitcitation of Wonder Woman #14.. Its in last month's Previews.. and it states in in this link (http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/Nov07/solicitations.html) as well..

I got this from J. Torres comicspace bulletin (http://www.comicspace.com/jtorres/bulletins.php?action=read&id=23783):

WONDER WOMAN #13
"Mothers & Daughters"
Written by J. Torres; Art by Julian Lopez & Bit; Cover by Terry & Rachel Dodson

In this issue, the war with the Amazons may be over, but the wounds haven't even begun to heal. Wonder Woman has her hands full with anti-Amazon sentiment in America, much of it targeted toward Wonder Girl! When it comes to hate and fear, even a magic lasso can only do so much!

DC Universe | 32pg. | Color | $2.99 US

Guess you'll find out tomorrow. I suspect it's probably J. Torres and not Gail Simone.

Looking at my pull list now and am pretty excited for all the books this week. Black Adam, Booster and GL have been really good. Want to see what happened to Ollie in GA/BC. Sorrow was great. Runaways, obviously. New Avengers, ehhh.

DC's site (http://www.dccomics.com/comics/?cm=8173), Comixology (http://www.comixology.com/sku/AUG070262/), Pull List.com (http://www.pulllist.com/comic/dc_comics/wonder_woman/13) all say Simone/Dodson begin their run on Wonder Woman #13 and I am hopeful.

Thank you. I took a short video game vacation from the board and really from the internet in general... and most other functions aside from sleeping and work. I'm getting better, but if I'm sparse in the future know that I've relapsed.

Also, exterminators most definitley gives me the heebeejeebes. That's part of why I love it. I'm constantly amazed at what they'll do.

bonus points to whoever gets the thread title reference

For of men it may generally be affirmed, that they are thankless, fickle, false studious to avoid danger, greedy of gain, devoted to you while you are able to confer benefits upon them, and ready, as I said before, while danger is distant, to shed their blood, and sacrifice their property, their lives, and their children for you; but in the hour of need they turn against you.

In the case of full disclosure I did not know the answer and googled the term, hence the fact that all I did was put the paragraph it was from.

How Machiavellian.

Is it bad that I get more excited on these weeks then the weeks in which I have a full stack of comics I love?
The anticipation of knowing that I'm going to be trying something different or new is just as great as picking up the New Avengers.

I totally beat Paper to the title source.

I'm kinda looking forward (http://lecinemafantastique.blogspot.com/2007/10/pull-list-for-101007.html) to Sorrow the most. I loved Issue #1.

New Avengers is on the bubble for me. It's just not grabbing me anymore and it feels like I only read NA so I know what you guys are talking about.

It might be up Paper's alley too. With it's throwback pulp space adventure feel and not too serious tone.

I actually respect Machiavelli, he wasn't nearly as harsh as The Prince would betray. Most of all he wanted his country to be free from the French/Spainish

All this talk of StarLord reminded me I had this little MSPaint doodle sitting around.
I "inked" the original concept sketch, but I haven't had a chance to color it. I'm thinking a cell shaded approach.

Nope. But when you showed me that Raccoon with a chaingun- well, what right thinking man could argue with that?

True. The lens of history becomes clouded over time. A proper reading of his work really doesn't lend itself to the "scheme by any means" lazy shorthand the term Machiavellian has come to mean.

Honestly? Nothing. Well, nothing new anyway. Apparently tomorrow's Absolute Sandman arrival means that my Amazon order of it should be shipping, but as for floppies, meh. X-FACTOR is probably the best book I'm getting and, as much as I love that book, that should never ever be the best book I get in a week. I really hate five week months...
