I just finished watching the show and noticed 1997 aswell. Dang, I was hoping I'd be the first one to catch it. Guess not. :p

We all noticed it. How could you not. It's not like it says 2006 or 2008 ... it was 1997... :)
So what's the official explanation as to why this was put in?
It's in episode 5 as well.
Martin learned from Kevin's mistake on The Broken. Instead of stopping webdrifter and trying to start up and release an episode after, he just took a short break and kept on making them. Then he would release them all once per week and everyone would think they're recent.
Either way, I hope the other episodes are more like the first 3, I didn't like 4 and 5 very much (compared to 1-3)
