It's been dreamed about in the deep dark geek recesses of the internet, but today Nintendo confirmed that Sonic will be a playable character in SSBB, w00t!
Mario is so going to whup your spiky blue ass!

Awesome, Awesome news, SSMB is shaping up to be one hell of a game. I'm glad they kept the ridiculously cheesy metal music from the last Wii Sonic game.

Dude I knew it! The moment they announced Mario & Sonic at the Olympics I was like "Sonic's gonna be in Brawl"...

I think it was pretty obvious that Sonic would be in SSBB after Snake was announced. But even though I was expecting it, I'm still a bit giddy that it's true.

Yup. And I've got more news.
1. Smash Bros is only delayed for sure in Japan and possibly Europe and Australia. If you live in North America you're in luck, it's still December 3rd for us.
2. Mario Kart Wii has motorcycles! This may not seem as big as Sonic in brawl, but Mario kart = best racing game of all time, and motorcycles will add to the fun.
3. Two new channels, one to show off Miis and one to download DS demos.

If it's still Dec. 3rd in the US, then why has the release date on the official site been changed to 'TBD'?

Haha, I guess we should've saw this coming. After all, Mario and Sonic are already teaming up in a game of their own.
Now it just needs Megaman and Simon Belmont and I'll die a happy gamer!

Simon should already be in this game. He's a Konami character like Snake. And the Contra guys. And the ****ing Ninja Turtles man! Those are all NES foundation characters right there.
I just hope they keep their characters to ones from Nintendo systems.

This game, for me, would go from "anticipated" to "I'm breaking into the store the night before" if they add Mega Man.
