I don't know if it deserves to be in the Top Ten, but I recently played Zone of the Enders again... and dammit it's a great game. The flight mechanics in it are what I wish they would have used for a Superman game... or even a DBZ.
Also, here's the requisite Half Life 2 post:

1. I'll always have a soft spot for the Oddworld series. It's pretty much my favourite series ever.
2. WoW
3. KOTOR
4. Prince of Persia
5. Super Mario Bros (any, really but I liked 3 the most)
6. Elder Scrolls (Morrowind)
7. Psychonauts
8. Breakout (I loved the hell out of that game when I was little)
9. Tetris
Those are some of my favourites. Keep in mind I don't have any new consoles.

I don't get why people say Oblivion is so amazing. I made the mistake of buying it over any other game in the store, played it about 20 hours or so and uninstalled it. Game was total garbage in my opinion. Felt very much the same through the entire game, and the upgrades to armor and stuff were really lacking. Spent the entire time waiting for the game to get good, but was sadly let down.
I don't know, maybe you just REALLY REALLY need to love role playing.
Also, staying on topic, my vote is for Orange Box. Between portal being maybe the best 2 hours of my gaming life, just finished episode two and I'm pissed because i want more, and TF2 is probably the best multi player FPS i have ever played. Not to mention i no longer have to log on my friends account to play HL2 and Episode 2, the package deal was amazing.
I fail to see how any game out right now can even compare remotely to the Orange Box.

Tales of Phantasia - Single handedly redirected RPGs from Final Fantasy I style games into what they are today.:D
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness - revived sRPGs in Asia big time and abroad it resurrected them from the dead...
Fire Emblem: The Sealed Sword - possibly the most polished strategy game of its bloodline
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete - The most timeless old school RPG there is; you can get your girlfriend into gaming single handedly with this game too, its great.
Chrono Trigger - I am unworthy to give it my humble opinions
Golden Sun/Golden Sun II - Best portable game ever.

Dude, couldn't agree with you more, consoles ruined Tom Clancy. That or Redstorm getting bought by Ubisoft.....can't figure out which happened first....

These might not be on anyone else's "best" list and appear in no particular order, but each game had a profound affect on me as a gamer.
God of War - PS2
Command & Conquer - PC (my first RTS)
Dragon Warrior - NES (I played it so much, my parents took my NES from me for the rest of the school year)
Grand Theft Auto III - PS2
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast - PC
Fallout - PC
X-Wing - PC (the first PC game I ever played all the way through)
Ratchet & Clank - PS2
Shadow of the Colossus - PS2 (I felt really badly every time I killed a colossus)
Half-Life - PC

Current Games (& Reasons why they are Rad)
1)BioShock: One of the best games for storytelling in quite some time.
2)The Orange Box: Half Life 2 + Portal + Team Fortress 2 = not only a great deal but some of the best games around at the time.
3)Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii Version): Zelda, next gen, and insane graphics while still feeling like a game everyone can play.
4) Puzzle Quest (DS & XBL Arcade) This game is one of the easiest to pick up and hard to master. Leveling becomes something more of an obsession than a goal to keep going in the game.
OLD SCHOOL:
1) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: This has to be one of the greatest game of all time. Its epic on a grand scale while still remaining one of the easiest games to pick up.
2) DOOM: The game that started it all for FPS is still one of best games to just sit down and play at any times.
3) Super Mario Brothers 3: Not only being featured in the ONLY feature film Fred Savage is remembered for "The Wizard" it also rocks hard as carrying on the tradition of the first game by using the warp system.

The Zone of the Enders games are friggin awesome, especially in "The Second Runner" after you beat the game and get to start with all of the power ups...It never gets old Zero Shifting/phazing/transporting/warping over to an enemy and beating the shiz out of it...I thought it was cool the first time you meet Anubis and Nohman again, that you can actually beat the crap out of them, but eventually have to get beaten to let the game progress...Even though the story for the games is a bit cliche, I thought the games were Epic!!!

I agree with Bioshock for the story...The gameplay helped as well because that was how the story is conveyed...
Doom was pretty popular, but didn't Castle Wolfenstein start FPS's?;)
Super Mario 3...Totally Rad, but you could warp in Super Mario 2...*ducking as I prepare to get hit with rolled up newspapers*:)
