It's like they took the first scene of X-Men 2 (the best scene of the movie) and made a whole movie about it.
Wes
wow I can't believe they ripped off Night Crawler of all X-Men heroes... Anyway it does look cool, I mean if Samual L Jackson is in it then..... oh wait.... he's in EVERYTHING! nm
I'll prob torrent it....

The freaky hair was definitely quite jarring in that trailer.

I like him for what he does but I haven't seen a movie in a while that he was actually good in and made me enjoy the story was unbreakable. Though I do want to see him in 1408.

His role in "1408" was minimal. The film is pretty nice, though.

Damn trailers and their misleading ways. Oh well I'll check it out anyway. He was cool in Deep Blue Sea but that was just because of the way he "Bit it" in the film lol.

Teleportation is not X-Men exclusive... Teleportation has been around in fiction for a very long time. While we're still on the subject, the book "Jumper" (which the movie is based on) was released in '92, when comics still weren't that mainstream.

I thought the Jumper looked good. I'm excited, as long as it doesn't turn out to be the Covenant. i'm down

Oh my god. I watched this at work on one of those "Sites" and I wanted my money back. It's sad when a movie would make me do work then watch it.

what are you talking about? comics have been around since the 50's and were considered mainstream in the late 70s. Night Crawler's character was also around before 92...
but whatever I'm not about to have a Mexican Nerd-Off here.

Read the book (http://www.amazon.com/Jumper-Novel-Steven-Gould/dp/0765342286/ref=sr_1_1/104-5892622-4545507?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1192121805&sr=1-1)...it's awesome...
The trailer, while taking liberties movies always do, still conveys the feeling the book gives you...
And BTW - my vote for trailer of the year is the new Golden Compass trailer (http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/thegoldencompass.html) that just hit, which is based on another great series of books...

1. Teleportation has been around in science fiction since before the 20th century and before that in "Aladdin" with it's addition in "Arabian Nights", 1709; thus "ripping off Nightcrawler" is a hard thing to do, seeing as he wasn't the first character to teleport. They're really ripping off some nameless Arab storyteller who's too dead to care about it.
2. We have different standards for determining the "mainstream", I guess... In my world, only recently have comics begun to go mainstream with barely exciting movies being based on and around them.
What it all boils down to is the point that Nightcrawler's teleportation isn't exclusive to comics, Marvel or modern media.

Totally agree with this! One of my favorite books when I was younger.

Basically, the way I see it, you wanted to mouth off about stuff you clearly didn't have the sense to check up on, and to try to "prevent" any kind of discussion about it you pretended to not care after writing your kid-like response.
It's the oldest trick in the book: "Oh, I'm going to write something to seem cool, and I'll finish it off with something like 'But I don't care', so I can be a little ***** about it later when the inevitable response that squashes the point I was trying to make is posted."

Hey I got an idea lets whip out the tape messures and see who's D$%k is bigger...
Or we could stay on topic of the post and not branch off to the uber nerd show.

Looks cool, except it's got the man who single handedly turned Darth Vader from badass to boring. The premise is interesting though.

Of the year material the jury is still outTechnically, I think it was a "Trailer of the Year" nomination for 2005 ... since it was manufactured as an alternative to the FEMA trailers for Katrina relief.

Billy Elliot!
Looks... meh.
I think I'm too jaded from X-Men to enjoy a movie about only 1 aspect... teleportation.
