Halloween's just around the corner and I was just curious to know how many of you plan on dressing up and/or getting wasted like I am? And if you guys already have a costume in mind.

I was thinking of dressing up as Green Man from an episode of Always Sunny but I'm having a ***** of a time finding the spandex required to pull off an entire body suit :p:D

[UPDATE] Well I found out that they're available on ebay, go figure

Here's a link if anyone else was interested:

Haven't celebrated Halloween in years. Probably won't start now. If I ever do, I'll probably have a masquerade ball. It'll be a recreation, along with all the rooms and furniture, of Poe's The Masque of the Red Death. That's too cool not to do. It'll probably also have some BDSM scenes because frankly, Halloween is boring (eating lots of candy doesn't mean too much to me now).

Is it just me or do many people treat Halloween more like a fancy dress party where anything goes, rather than going for costumes based on myth and horror. I'm not going to tell people what to do, but I would think it made more sense to do the latter.

The kid normally picks my costume, has for years (ie: Daphne to his Scooby Doo), but since he wants to be Ash from Pokemon, I have no idea if I will be dressing up, and if so as what.
My hair is too short to do any of my old costumes, aside from Delight from Sandman. Wow, Halloween is getting close.

I am thinking Wolverine. My hair naturally goes like Logan's as it gets longer/thincker ... and I need a haircut ... and I have Hugh Jackman's voice (our Americanised Australian accents are very similar).

Its touch and go tough - I have a conference next week that I need to attend and be the booth b1tch ... so my hair might be going short again this weekend.

Eh, Christmas is also bastardized. You are supposed to dress as a ghoul, ghost, monster, etc. to blend in since that's the night when the worlds of the dead and the living blur together but most people don't really care or believe in that. Frankly, it's just been commercialized just like Christmas. Although I would like to one day do my Poe inspired ball (in previous post in this thread) it's too much money to spend on a holiday that now is all about candy and for a very small amount of people that would appreciate it (not a very social person so I wouldn't really invite people I don't know too well unless I plan it to be big).

I guess it's to be expected. We live in a secular and commercial/material world.

I treat Halloween as an excuse to go out drinking with my friends and it's the one day of the year my wife doesn't mind me staring at all the hot women in skimpy outfits because they're generally everywhere, lol. Living in a college town has its perks :D

I always wanted to use Halloween as an excuse to cosplay, however I have no sewing skills or much money, and I'm just too fat. No one wants to see a husky Vash the Stampede.

Since I already had a similar hat and whip (don't ask), I did spend $3 at a thift store to get some brown clothes and go as Indiana Jones one year.

This year I doubt I'll do anything, but I never know. If Alex, Dan and Jeff do not dress up as something for their Halloween episode I'll be dissappointed, just have Steve wrap them up in toilet paper or something.

Or use his magic to put rad costumes on them for the holloween episode (31 is a wed. so hopefully they will as least have a halloween theme even if they film it several days earlier).
