I have finally convinced my wife to by a new computer, and I am going to switch to an Apple. But what I am not sure of is whether to get an iMac or a MacBook Pro. My PC is a couple years old and works well and I just switched my five year old laptop to linux and it is being a pain to get the wireless working. Also, whichever I do not get I will probably get in the future. Any and all opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Do you want to use your Mac anywhere or at a desk?
Also wait till the new system comes with the new Mac OS it's released the 26th of this month but I don't know when it will be installed on new machines. I would think on the 26th as well.

Anyone who purchase a "qualified Mac" between October 1 2007 and December 29 2007 that ship with 10.4 Tiger can upgrade to the Leopard for US$9.95
If you will eventually get both the iMac and MBP, I will suggest you to get the iMac first, as it's a new release and probably won't get any upgrade (spec or case design) in the near future while the MBP should have some upgrade soon...
