After Ep 30 I thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread where people can recommend Podcasts.

I'll start...

My all-time favourite is DVDPodBlast (http://dvdpodblast.com)

A bunch of guys living in LA get together every week, select an awful movie and 'Blast' it.

Ostensibly it's an alternate DVD commentary with synch points and what-not, and it's hysterical. And so far and above that mediocre Rifftrax garbage it's not even worth comparing. The 'Blasters' are live, off-the-cuff and funny as hell.

DVDPodBlast (http://dvdpodblast.com) is the Gold standard when it comes to alternate DVD commentaries, and at this point they've got over 60 Blasts up on the site, including a lot of geek-friendly ones. You should hear them tear the STAR WARS prequels apart, or THE MATRIX sequels.

(And, No I'm not one of them. I'm just a huge fan who thinks that anyone who loves movies needs to check these guys out.)

Man, basically all I do with my iPod is watch or listen to podcasts.

EGM Live- The editors of EGM talk about their latest issue and the games coming out for the week.

1up Yours- Maybe the best video game discussions on the 'net. Garnett, Shane , Mark and John talk about what they've been playing every week, talk message boards and discuss important news.

The 1up Show- Video podcast that highlights some recently released or upcoming games.

The Sports Anomaly- Sports and Video Games talk, plus HBO.

The Official Lost Podcast- the executive producers, Damon and Carlton discuss the most recent episode and answer viewer questions.

Webb Alert- Morgan Webb's tech news show.

SModcast- Kevin Smith's podcast.

College University Podcast- The guys behind the web cartoons College University and Clock Suckers talk about random topics.

Screwattack, Gametrailers.com and Gamesweasel- Some more gaming podcasts.

The Onion radio and video networks

Top of the Pods- two Brits make up top ten lists every week.

Also love DVD Podblast, it's like watching a movie with your foul mouthed, drunken best friends.

And of course Diggnation, TRS and the new Tekzilla.

Oh and is it wrong to love my podcast, the Kick Ass Movie podcast?

The SModcast is great.

Kevin's ability to turn any conversation into a metaphor for sucking d**k is admirable.

Here are some of my favorites that haven’t been mentioned so far (although hi-five for naming Sports Anomaly!)

-Comics This Week: The name says it all. Hosted by Fred from the forums, he runs down the best and worst of the week in comics. Doesn’t hold back
-Fuzzy Typewriter: Hosted by Paper from the forums. Pretty new podcast, but the quality (both production and material) is really good as he dives into random pop culture.
-Cute with Chris: Guy who runs a mock-teen beat-esque show for cute pets
-Pulp Secret: Short video podcast from two groups of folks who review comics
-Relevant: Put out by editors of Relevant Magazine, which is focused on life and culture for 20-30s. Very random and funny

I think the point of this thread should be to provide links for people who may be curious.

It's not exactly fair to say "I like this..." then expect people to go looking for it.

I Recall Jeff saying that he liked Strong Bad Emails as a podcast.
Was this a wish or what Cause I love homestarrunner.com (http://homestarrunner.com/), but I have never seen them on iTunes & can't find them now!

I listen to so many freaking podcasts, since i've gotten a real job I've had to cull the list considerably and I still think its too long to list here. I'll pick out the best (mostly of what hasn't been mentioned yet).

Daily Giz Wiz (http://www.twit.tv/dgw) - Another Leo Laporte podcast with Mad's Maddest Writer Dick DeBartolo. Its pretty funny, and even my girlfriend can stand it... well almost. I was appalled that the guys didn't mention it on the show, they need to listen to this. Its 5 days a week and anywhere from 10-20 minutes long.

Geeknights (http://www.frontrowcrew.com) - From Rym and Scott a pair of true geeks. An hour long podcast four times a week with seperate feeds for their themed nights,: Science & Technology; Videogames, Boardgames , and RPGs; Anime, Manga & Comics; and Random Thursdays.

Dave and Joel's Fast Karate for the Gentleman (http://www.daveandjoel.com/) - Two guys with a twice-weekly podcast about anime and videogames from guys who seem to hate most anime. Really funny.

12 Byzantine Rulers (http://www.anders.com/lectures/lars_brownworth/12_byzantine_rulers/) - A professor gives the most interesting history lessons ever about one of the least well known periods of history and the men and women who shaped them.

Dual Screen Radio (http://www.dualscreenradio.com/) - A Nintendo DS podcast. Some decent reviews, seems to come out monthly. The one host's collection is ungodly though. I wish I could find the picture of it on the shelf. Best I can find is this list. (http://www.dualscreenradio.com/database/mylist.php?listtype=1&user=1)

Of course the list of podcasts I listen to is long, Smodcast, Downloadable Content (Penny Arcade), A Prairie Home Companion, almost all of the 1UP podcasts (especially Broken Pixels), The 10th Wonder (Heroes), Gamespot's Hotspot, and Mugglecast, Pottercast and Snapecast which i stopped listening to after the book came out until I could finish it, just haven't found time to listen again.

My list:

TRS (of course!)
Diggnation
Ask a Ninja
The 1Up Show
IndieFeed: Rock

Those are the ones I usually hate to miss. Used to have way more podcasts, but I never actually listened to them. I do miss NPR News Quiz though. Should get back into it. I listen to the Official Lost podcast too when it's in season. I should find a Heroes one...

My favorite right now is the 1Up Show. Never heard about it until just a couple of months back, but wish I heard about it when it first started.

hey dudes! i've been in japan for several months now, and i basically survive on podcasts for entertainment that isn't buzzing beeping or spinning the way that the japanese kind does :) not to knock it, japan has been, and continues to be AMAZING!

all the ones mentioned so far are awesome: smodcast, cutewithchris, twit, 1up. i tend to listen to a lot of audio podcasts. i do a lot of commuting and a lot of train rides, so audiobooks and podcasts have absolutely saved me in that regard. some are very indie and niche, others are run by the canadian government! all of them are awesome:

CBC's 'Ideas' (http://www.cbc.ca/podcasting/index.html?newsandcurrent#ideas)is probably my favourite show on the CBC, everything from literature to historical philosophy. while you're are it, check out any other CBC podcasts! they release everything in an online form!

The Sound of Young America (http://www.maximumfun.org/)"is a show about things that are awesome" and it's actually NPR now. I love Jesse Thorn and want him to birth my children.

Into the Score (http://intothescore.blueandbrownbooks.com/) is a podcast a good friend of mine does back home in Canada. He's a music teacher, among other things, and has basically dedicated his life to promoting videogame music as a legitimate art form. it can be technical at times, but that makes it educational. It's insanely niche, but totally interesting in a rad way!

Finding Japan (http://www.findingjapan.com/) is such an interesting and compelling foreigner's perspective on japan. it's also a very well produced podcast. Also, if interested there's also a ton of awesome links to other japan podcasts on his site, Kobe Beef Show, and Tokyo Calling are among my other faves.

This Week in Media (http://pixelcorps.tv/this_week_in_media) is a podcast about the tech side of media, (music, movies, news, etc.) done by the Pixel Corps. Actually, all of the Pixel Corps stuff is awesome, so put all of those in your iTunes as well.

For video my favourites are:

Take-Away Shows (http://www.blogotheque.net/takeawayshows/) which are a series of live preformances shot in really interesting places in really interesting ways.

Weekend Project (http://www.makezine.com/blog/archive/weekend_projects/)s is the MAKE podcast with Bre Pettis. I wish i had a soldering iron in japan...

Hak5 (http://www.hak5.org) is a fun one concerning hacking things.

I also LOVE all the new stuff from Channel Flip (http://www.channelflip.tv).

Letter To America

On Strongbad/Homestar Runner those podcasts are just the e-mails that came out years ago that have been made into podcasts... unless he's finally decided to put new material out. The great thing with the originals are that there are easter eggs all over the place because it was made in Flash. Something that you don't get in the podcast versions.

I loved looking for easter eggs
I would spend 5 min running the flash over with my cursor looking for the link or hoping it was just timed and would pop up!

It has been so long since I last saw a SB Email I will have to find the time and watch some again!

Geekscape!!!!

This is very good, it is hosted by Danny T's ex-partner in crime Jonathan London. If you like TRS then you will like this. It is more comic centered then TRS and also lacks the polish but is still something you guys should check out.

I followed scape at the start and found myself less entertained by Jonathon. I got hints of racism and homophobia, which I am 100% against.
Of the 2 I prefer Dan as a show host and someone I would probably be buds with in real life.

Most of my favorites have been mentioned, but here are a few I don't see posted.

The Naked Scientists (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/)- Cool and easy-to-follow science news. They also walk you through an experiment you can do at home each week.
WatchMe@Xolo.TV (http://watchme.xolo.tv/)- A video podcast which profiles other podcasts.
Break A Leg (http://www.breakaleg.tv/)- A hilarious sitcom video podcast. It's supposed to be like The Office which I have never seen.
Channel Frederator (http://www.channelfrederator.com/)- Animated shorts which are mostly genius.
Nature Podcast (http://www.nature.com/nature/podcast/index.html)- This is by the same guy who hosts The Naked Scientists.

KEXP Song of the Day - This is a cool way to get new music
Loveline - Freakin hilarious guests, also check http://www.lovelinearchive.com for a bunch more episodes

Wine Library TV. I don't even like wine, but Gary's enthusiasm and appreciation of viewers makes it a great watch. I finally get why Kevin is all excited about this podcast.
