I would not mess with it personally. That is stored on the BIOS chip, and the only way to do that would be to flash it with a new BIOS. If you screw it up then you could toast the computer. What you may be able to do though is go into the BIOS and change the startup type to not display the splash screen. I will get back to this later tonight after work and try it out on my laptop.

I never changer the BIOS dell logo...not messing with BIOS but I did change the windows load screen and the log in screen and computer sounds using Wincustomize and going to the sound settings and using star trek sounds for certain operations on my PC...my 3 faves I use are when it boots up "Computer standing by" email "message from starfleet coming in on secure channel" and shut down "Auto shutdown sequence in progress"..rest of the sounds are mostly little beeps or whatever from star trek.:p

Anyway while changing the BIOS may not be a viable option..changing the windows log in screens is.

I personally don't much go for changing stuff like that either, unless you do it from the original code. Using software to make changes to Windows is like messing something up that is already messed up. I would not mess with the Dell logo, it is a Dell, if you did not want a Dell then you should not have got one. Do you have the latest BIOS installed? Maybe you will get more options with the latest one. One of them being disable dell splash screen. But I doubt it, I would imagine that Dell happens to like their splash screen and would not want it to be messed with.

Um I never changed the Dell splash screen...I just used wincustomize to change the Windows login/bootscreens.
Used it for 3 years..not once had a single issue or slow down or anything.

I never got the point of changing the BIOS or Login splash screens ... they aren't things I stare at, and are only up and visible for a very brief amount of time.

You should be able to delete the logo. Look for fast startup or something in the options. What bios version do you have?

I'd suggest asking in the dell forums. there are apps on changing windows startup screens etc as I'm sure you know. But there is no application for swapping the start up screen on the bios I have for my dell laptop. Screwing with your bios is not a good thing to do, unless Dell has some kind of app to do it... imho.

Well to tell you the truth, messing with even as much as the boot screen and whatever can be a big risk. i don't do it. Even with Flyakite OS which promises that everthing will go alright, I still think of that .00001% chance that something will go wrong. Usually when you mess the computer up this way, a simple restart usually doesn't fix it.

My advice - Stay away from the BIOS. It don't bother you, don't bother it.

I don't see a utility for you model laptop but it can be done and you can get the utility right from Dell... It is available for my D600 and not sure if it will work for you C610...
