rad_n00b is a jerk. Dan ia cool, the tea incident last week had me crying with laughter, which is not good when you are at work with earphones on in an open plan office, got some strange looks from colleagues.

I think it's important to remember that the three hosts are people. Humans even. And every human has different mannerisms, traits, and quirks that come together to define what their personality is. Sure, Dan sometimes takes a pause (or 6) and stumbles through what he's trying to say. Guess what, so do Alex and Jeff. These aren't three guys who graduated from the Columbia School of Broadcasting, y'know. These are three regular Joes, not unlike any of us, who have a passion about what they're talking about, and have gotten off their rears and put forth the effort to bring us a form of entertainment that we all enjoy about subjects we are interested in. Each of them has a metric buttload of knowledge on these subjects. You have to take into account that they have a relatively short amount of time to discuss a HUGE amount of info. You have to realize that, as they are talking, they are mentally calculating the best and most efficient way to sift through immense amounts of knowledge and communicate it succinctly and honestly while still being animated, being entertaining, and being themselves. I've never hosted a podcast, but I'm willing to bet it's probably a just a wee bit tougher than it looks. If it comes off as a little less professional than Dan Rather, who the heck are we to be critical? Sure, we all have our moments when we're watching and have a thought of "that segment could have gone better"... but the bottom line is simply the fact that just because it's not perfect doesn't mean it's horrible. IMHO, the show is a solid 8 out of 10, with variable drift between 7 and 9.

I will be honest I didn't like Dan at all in the very first episode. But after that point on I've liked all 3 guys on the show, and I think they do a great job together each week.

Everybody on TRS makes really dumb jokes (which is awesome) but Dan's the only one that gets shit for it. Same on Geekdrome. And he fucking made Geekdrome what it was. DannyT is balls to the walls awesome, and yes a little awkward, but that's kinda the point of being a geek isn't it? I agree with Trachtenberg alot, and he helped me out more than he will ever know with getting more comfortable with myself, and embracing my own dorkitude. (Seriously Dan, Comics for People Who Don't Like Comics? Improved my life ten fold.)

Oh I was talking about in the shows, not on the forums. The Geekdrome forums were really nice. And I've moved on to, but you can't tell me that TRS or Geekscape stack up to Geekdrome. They don't. I don't lay awake crying about it, and I don't focus on it, because I love both of these shows. I love Jeff and Alex, and I sleep naked with Brian and Dunn. And for fuck's sake, I'm an intern for Geekscape! And I'd be an intern for TRS too! But Geekdrome was better.

oh, that and this isn't a forum member attacking another forum member. Dan, Alex, Jeff, and all the hosts of Rev3 shows put themselves out there. Plus, as the quoted poster basically said, it would be stupid to silence anyone that might see an issue with the show.

On the note of Dan. Most of the time, I don't agree with him. I find that I agree with Alex/Jeff more, usually one more than the other depending on the movie/game/tv show/etc. To me, it seems that Dan goes into a movie and sees the movie making. Alex and Jeff go in seeing a story, or cool action sequences, etc. As many probably notice, Dan almost always mentions the camera work, not that that is bad, but it's the main reason I don't agree with him, and yes, it is annoying at times when Dan is trying to say something, but just can't get it out.

I think the problem with threads like this one is that they have a tendency to easily derail into something nonconstructive or even destructive.

The mods more often than not leave these threads open even one request of a lock, unless there is compelling reason. So it appears anyway.

What is it with this form and maturity? It's a re-occuring theme that where someone suggets that their opinion is more wise than someone else's. I'm the first one to call shenanigans when they do things like call game of the year even though not all of them have played many of the games up for game of the year. They are far from flawless... but they are entertaining. I see no point in making comments on someone's character. If you don't like the format of the show, or some part of the content that they can change, fine... but personal comments are pointless. More importantly can we simply speak to each other with some semblance of respect rather than this snide shoot from the bung hole perspective that you've decided to take?

Of the episodes that I have watched, I think Dan is one of the funniest. It is not because he has the best sense of humor or that everything he has the funniest expressions, it is because he has flaws. He repeatedly forgets names and titles and then continues to get really flustered as he tries to remember them. Also, he occasionally starts staring off into space and zone out; then Alex and Jeff catch him in the act. Lastly, he repeatedly screws up when he talks about the advertisers; but, I think that all of these flaws add humor to the show. Hate to say it, but it is fun to laugh at someone elses mistakes, which something that is not on normal television.
