View Full Version : What games are you waiting for before you buy a console?

Personally I'm waiting for Earthbound on Wii's Virtual Console before I buy a Wii, although Okami will now be a major factor for me as well. I already own Earthbound for the SNES, but will vote with my dollars so that god willing we can get Mother 3 / Earthbound 2 in the states.

I was holding off for the next Crimson Skies game before I got an Xbox 360, the game that compelled me to get the original Xbox. However with games like Bioshock, I found it hard to resist.

Finally for the PS3 I'll probably wait for the right price point or not really bother at all. Economically I consider the PS3 and 360 pretty reasonable substitutes for the time being.

I hate that MGS will be the only reason that I will buy a PS3...It's worse than crack...I don't even know why I like the Metal Gear series that much...the original was great, I even bought the remake for the GameCube, but 2 and 3 weren't that good, yet here I go waiting for the release of MGS4 so I can go and blow some money on another console and game...somebody help me!!! Of course the only real reason I bought a Wii was for ZeldaTP and the 360 was for Gears of War...I'm just a sucker sometimes:(

Yeah, I might be able to quench my thirst with only settling for GTA for 360...I hope...

i probably wouldn't buy a ps3 for it, but i'd really like to play Little Big Planet. Other than that nothing has peaked my interest enough to buy a ps3, so I too would be eager to see what other games ppl are looking forward to, specifically on the ps3. It seems like a good console but I dunno any good games comin besides mgs (not a fan).

Well, other then a Bluray player the PS3 means nothing to me. When I go HD (other then my computer I mean) then I might get one (assuming Bluray "wins").

I got my Wii because it's the best system for me (VC, Nintendo games, occasional awesome third party that's not a FPS, occasional FPS, a campaign on "fun" rather then useless "hardcorez" BS).

The 360 is a good alue system. I'm still waiting for "Reliable Hardware: A Snowball's Chance in Hell). That game will be a killer app that moves consoles. On top of that, I'm waiting until my 360 wishlist has 15 games I would love (as in own not rent/gamefly). So far it's Gears (maybe 2), Viva Pinata (maybe 2 but it's coming out on the DS so...), Blue Dragon (borderline), Eternal Sonata. Haven't found anything on the level of games on the Wii I would enjoy (people always complain about the Wii having no games but it has more games now then the 360 had when it was 1 year old, not even including GC or VC).

Word round' the campfire is that MGS4 is being ported to the 360 a little ways after PS3 launch because Konami is getting a third-party developer to do it. Kojima really didn't want to bring MGS4 to the 360, but Konami is forcing it. The game's development cost is rivaling movies, and the PS3 just hasn't sold enough units to pay its own due.

I've read that it will port as well...I even saw a web-site selling pre-orders wth a release date, but then it was taken down...I'm sure that MGS4 will port to 360 just like the others did in the older consoles...It will more than likely release with a title like MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, Solid Substantial Subsistance or something like that...Also, with the install base of PS3 vs. 360 it does make since to port to 360...But, Sony may also be paying big bucks for exclusivity...who knows...

I already bought all the consoles before the games I really wanted are out. x_x But there were enough games out already to tide me over anyhow.

I'm waiting on getting a PSP though until I know enough about it to mod it correctly. I want my PSX games on there... Though, once Crisis Core comes out for it in the US, I'll definitely pick one up.
